Point Update 12-23

Hey,  last update before Christmas.  I wanted to get points in before all the NFL regular season predictions end yesterday and things get whacky again.

The biggest point change of the week was the 40 points I got from absolutely obliterating Gary's fantasy team in the finals. Gary's team did so poorly that if you doubled his point total, he would have beaten me by five points.  Such an ass kicking.

Anyway enough bragging.  In the world of prediction a couple of predictions came through.  Dallas won the NFC East.  John was the only person to have them winning that.

In Top 3 draft pick news, Tampa Bay and Tennessee are mathematically guaranteed to end up #1 and #2 in the 2015 draft.  So, Joe, Rob, and Jim each score 15 points for having  Tampa, and Geiss for having Tennessee.

The bowl pick'em predictions have started too.  Joe's a perfect 6 for 6 so far, and we have a long way to go.

Pro Pick'em

With one week left in the pro pick'em Rob has a one point lead over Gary.  Realistically, the only person else that has a shot to win that is probably Geiss, who currently sits three points back.

In the meantime, here are the point updates.

1. Joe 679
2. Gary  654
3. Rob  649
4. Adam 630
5. Colin  581
6. Geiss 578
7. Munez 573
8. Andrew 566
9. Jim 557
10. Shawn 538
11. Folden 524
12. John 280

Merry Christmas.  I'll be back next Monday with the last big point update of the year.

Point Update 12-19

Hey, this is going to be short and sweet, like my dong.

Joe, Colin, Rob each got the 5 point bonus for pro pick'em last week.

Everyone got 60 points for having Indi, New England, and Denver winning their divisions.

Gary and I each got 20 points for winning our fantasy football semi finals matchups.

Gary and I play for 40 points this weekend in the big fantasy football championship game.  4 seed vs 6 seed.

Here are your point totals.

1. Joe 664
2. Gary 648
3. Rob 637
4. Colin 583
5. Adam 582
6. Andrew 569
7. Munez 567
8. Geiss 557
9. Jim 534
10. Shawn 532
11. Folden 520
12. John 276

That's it for this week guys.  Very busy so can't give you too much sugar.  Merry Christmas.

Football God points update 12-11

Hey, so the college predictions are in!  Some people fared pretty well and some did not.  Let's start by looking at the four team playoff

Ohio State
Alabama
Florida St
Oregon

The only person get all four teams correct was me.  Five other people got 3 of the 4 teams.  The other 6 people got 2 or 1.  Nobody got shut out.

Gary and Joe were the big winners in the College Predictions.  They each correctly predicted 3 of the 4 championship teams and 7 of the ten conference champions.

Also, all the individual awards are in, and only one award was correctly predicted.  Me, Jim, and Munez all picked Melvin Gordon to win the Doak Walker award.  That was it.  The winners of the other awards are.

Coach of the Year, AP: Gary Patterson
Chuck Bednarik Award: Scooby Wright III
Fred Biletnikoff Award: Amari Cooper
Jim Thorpe Award: Gerod Hollimon
Butkis Award Winner: Erik Kendricks

The Heisman is going to be awarded on Saturday and 8 of the 12 people have him.  So, I assume that's going to change the points here soon.

The point breakdown went as follows.

Joe 215
Gary 215
Andrew 195
Munez 190
Adam 180
Rob 175
Jim 155
Folden 150
Colin 150
Shawn 130
Geiss 125
John 105

There are still a few people who still have the ability to get the winner and loser of the NCAA playoff.

Rob has Oregon over Alabama, Folden, Joe, Andrew, and Gary have Florida State over Alabama.

PICK'EM

So, officially Folden has officially won the College Pick'em and earned the 40 bonus points. In the Pro Pick'em Rob and Munez are now tied for first place, while Gary, Andrew, and Shawn remain within 5 points, Jim and Dan are 6 points behind.

Totals on the College Pick'em for the year are

1. Folden 176
2. Andrew 129
3. Jim 127
4. Shawn 125
5. Gary 125
6. Joe 125
7. Colin 123
8. Dan 122
9. Adam 120
10. Munez 119
11. Rob 109
12. John 32

Pro Pick'em

1. Rob 108
2. Munez 108
3. Gary 104
4. Andrew 103
5. Shawn 103
6. Jim 102
7. Dan 102
8. Joe 99
9. Folden 97
10. Colin 95
11. Adam 86
12. John 39

BONUS

In Week 15 Folden and Jim pulled out the 10 point bonus.  The rest of the way we will be doing 5 point bonus's.

Total bonus's this year.

Dan 30 pts, Joe 30 pts, Munez 30 pts, Rob 20 pts, Shawn 20 pts, Jim 20 pts, Gary 15 pts, Andrew 10 pts, Folden 10 pts.

FANTASY FOOTBALL

In our two quarterfinals games last week, I beat Geiss in a barn burner where both of us put up at least 130 points.

Also, Gary beat Joe.  Gary's team put up a respectable number, while Joe's team...well...it's a team...82 points for Joe's team.  Gary and I each gained 20 fantasy points.

So now in the semi finals, it's Rob vs Me, and Gary vs Colin with a trip to the finals on the line.

Final Scores.

Check your scores.  As always, double check that you I didn't fuck up on the individual awards for your team.

Predictions + College pick'em + Pro pick'em + Fantasy Football + Bonus = Total

Joe 215+125+100+99+30=569
Gary 215+125+100+104+15=559
Andrew 195+129+50+103+10=487
Rob 175+109+130+108+20=542
Munez 190+119+60+108+30=507
Adam 180+120+110+86=496
Folden 150+176+20+97+10=453
Colin 150+123+120+95=488
Jim 155+127+50+102+20=454
Shawn 130+125+70+103+20=448
Geiss 125+122+90+102+30=469
John 105+32+20+39=196

Rankings

1. Joe 569 (+1)
2. Gary 559 (+3)
3. Rob 542 (-2)
4. Munez 507 (+3)
5. Adam 496 (+3)
6. Colin 488 (-2)
7. Andrew 487 (+2)
8. Geiss 469 (-5)
9. Jim 454 (+1)
10. Folden 453 (+1)
11. Shawn 448 (-5)
12. John 196

So obviously a LOT of change this week.  Geiss and Shawn had the biggest drop off in rank, each dropping 5 spots.  Me, Munez, and Gary each jumped 3 spots with the biggest leap.

Truthfully though the difference between 4th and 11th is only 59 points.  Joe, Gary, and Rob have a little cushion over the pack, but as more predictions come in that can change.

Until next time, laters on the manjay!

Football God Point Update. The last before shit hits the fan

Hey, happy December.  Hope everyone had a nice thanksgiving.  This update may take some time so we're going to get into it.

Fantasy Football:

The playoffs are set.  The six teams in the playoffs are

1. Rob (bye)
2. Colin (bye)

3. Joe VS
6. Gary

4. Adam VS
5. Geiss

The way the fantasy points go, everyone gets a 10 point bonus for making the playoffs.  Also, Rob and Colin receive a 20 point bonus for getting the first round bye.

The winners of this weekends games will receive 20 points.  The winners of the semi-finals get the same and the champion gets 40 points

Total Fantasy Points so far.

Rob 130 pts
Colin 120 pts
Joe 100 pts
Adam 90 pts
Geiss 90 pts
Gary 80 pts
Shawn 70 pts
Munez 60 pts
Jim 50 pts
Andrew 50 pts
Folden 20 pts
John 20 pts

A special shout out to Shawn's team.  Sucks to have the 2nd most points in the league and miss out on the playoffs.

College Pick'em

As far as this pick'em goes, it's pretty much a forgone conclusion that Folden is going to be taking the 40 point bonus.  He has a 6 point lead over Andrew and we are only picking 8 games this weekend.  It would take something crazy for Andrew to catch him.

College pick 'em points.

Folden 130
Andrew 124
Joe 123
Gary 122
Jim 122
Shawn 121
Colin 119
Geiss 118
Munez 115
Adam 115
Rob 106
John 32.

Good season on the pick'ems John.  Proud of you.

Pro Pick'em

The Pro Pick'em is much much tighter. There are four weeks remaining and Munez is holding onto a razor thin one point lead over Rob and a two point lead over Shawn.  Geiss is only 4 back, Andrew and Gary 5 back.

Totals as of beginning of Week 14

Munez 99
Rob 98
Shawn 97
Geiss 95
Andrew 94
Gary 94
Joe 91
Jim 91
Folden 87
Colin 87
Adam 82
John 39

Pick'em Bonus

This is the last week where a 10 point bonus is given.  Starting next week it'll be a 5 point bonus.

Week 13 bonus belongs to Joe who had a massive 25 combined point week.
Week 14 belongs to Munez for posting 21 points combined, scoring the most in Pros and tying for most in College last week.

Total Bonus points by person

Munez 30 pts
Joe 30 pts
Dan 30 pts
Rob 20 pts
Shawn 20 pts
Gary 15 pts
Andrew 10 pts
Jim 10 pts
Adam 0
Folden 0
Colin 0
John 0

Pre Season Predictions

1st prediction of the year in.  Georgia Southern won the Sun Belt in their first year in Division 1A.  For this, they don't get to play in a bowl game!  For no reason.  Other than a dumb NCAA rule.  Throw it on the pile of other shit the NCAA does that makes no sense.

Obviously nobody got this prediction correct.

So, one last week of normal point updates.  Next week all the Conference champions will be factored in so expect some big swings.

Fantasy points + College Pick'em + Pro Pick'em + bonus

Rob 130+106+98+20=354
Colin 120+119+87=326
Joe 100+123+91+30=344
Adam 90+115+82=287
Geiss 90+118+95+30=333
Gary 80+122+94+15=311
Shawn 70+121+97+20=308
Munez 60+115+99+30=304
Andrew 50+124+94+10=278
Jim 50+122+91+10=273
Folden 20+130+87=237
John 20+32+39=91

Rankings

1. Rob 354
2. Joe 344 (-1)
3. Geiss 333
4. Colin 326 (+3)
5. Gary 311 (+1)
6. Shawn 308 (-2)
7. Munez 304 (-2)
8. Adam 287
9. Andrew 278 (+1)
10. Jim 273 (-1)
11. Folden 237
12. John 91

The plus and minus indicate a rising or falling in the rankings.  Joe fell out of his first place tie, which is now held by Rob . Colin had the biggest jump, three, while Shawn and Munez both dropped two spots.

One more fun fact.  John has had the same exact point total since the 10/27 update.  Sadly, once the predictions are in he will have triple digits.

Until next week, double check your point totals, and hide your no reason boners.

Football God Update 11/18

Another week in the bag.  More updates to cover.  We're going to start with our Pick'em Bonus

Week 10 Gary
Week 11 Munez
Week 12 Shawn

Here's where it stands on the season, with how many bonus points each person has accumalated.

Dan 30 pts
Rob 20 pts
Joe 20 pts
Munez 20 pts
Shawn 20 pts
Gary 15 pts
Andrew 10 pts
Jim 10 pts

So with 6 weeks of pro football left, Munez leads the pro pick'em with 86 pts.  In striking distance of him right now are Rob and Shawn at 83 pts, Gary at 82, and Dan at 81.

In college pick'em Folden has continued to hold his lead with 108 points.  With only 3 weeks to play in that, it's likely that Jim (102 pts) and Andrew (101 pts) are the only two people who have a shot to catch him.

PREDICTIONS

As far as predictions go, there are a few things that are definite at this point.

Florida State has clinched their side of the ACC to play in the title game.  They will play either Georgia Tech or Duke.

Marshall and Lousiana Tech will almost certianly play for th Conference USA title.

Bowling Green will play for the MAC title.

Oregon will be playing for the PAC 10 title.  They are still waiting on an opponent.

In the NFL I haven't the slighest idea what the fuck's going to happen.  Arizona is 9-1 and has a 3 game lead on the playoffs, while New England is 8-2 and only has a two game lead.  Will probably be a few more weeks before we have anything clear up.

FANTASY FOOTBALL

Our fantasy season is AMAZING

There are two weeks left to play and we still have 9 teams vying for a playoff spot.

What's even more impressive is that Joe and Rob are 8-3 and still aren't guarenteed a playoff spot.

Usually, in a situation like this, the fringe playoff teams will play one another head to head and knock each other out.  However, Gary, Shawn, Dan, and Munez are all 6-5 and do not play one another at all in the next two weeks.

Next week

#1 Rob plays #9 Jim
#2 Joe plays #7 Dan
#3 Colin plays #6 Voyten
#4 Adam plays #5 Gary
#8 Munez plays #12 Folden
#10 Andrew plays #11 John

So, if Munez, Gary, Voyten, Dan, and Jim were all able to win this week, we would go into the last game of the season with these standings

Rob 8-4
Joe 8-4
Colin 7-5
Adam 7-5
Gary 7-5
Shawn 7-5
Dan 7-5
Munez 7-5
Jim 6-6

I realize that I'm speculating about 5 of 6 games going in a certain direction, but the fact that this is a possibility with two weeks left is very cool.

Of course, if Rob, Joe, Colin, myself, and Folden all win, We'll have four teams clinch the playoffs this weekend.

OVERALL POINTS

Rob 80+91+83+(20)=274
Joe 80+98+76+(20)=274
Colin 70+96+74=240
Adam 70+98+71=239
Gary 60+98+82+(15)=255
Shawn 60+99+83+(20)=262
Dan 60+95+81+(30)=266
Munez 60+93+86+(20)=259
Jim 50+102+73+(10)=235
Andrew 40+101+78+(10)=229
John 20+32+39=91
Folden 10+108+72=190

Standings

t1. Rob 274
t1. Joe 274
3. Dan 266
4. Shawn 262
5. Munez 259
6. Gary 255
7. Colin 240
8. Adam 239
9. Jim 235
10. Andrew 229
11. Folden 190
12. John 91

So, still very close.  In about three weeks, once conference champions are crowned, we will see a big influx of prediction points.  This may be the closest our points have been ever.  Still very much anyone's game (except John)

I will do one more point update, after the playoff participants are known, before the conference championship games.

Fantasy Football Week 10 News and Nuts

Week 10 is starting tomorrow and it looks like we have another casualty to the potential playoff race.  John lost his 5th game in a row to drop to 2-7.  That almost certainly drops him out of potential playoff contention.

So, with 4 games left to play we are down to 10 people fighting for playoff spots.  Let's see what the deal is this week.

John (2-7) vs Jim (3-6)

Jim is in a win out or be done situation.  Lucky for him, he has the aforementioned John on the schedule this week.  This is the last easy game for Jim though.  He has Colin, Rob, and Shawn down the stretch, and those are all difficult wins.

Andrew (3-6) vs Munez (4-5)

Andrew is in a similar situaiton to Jim.  Needs 4 wins down the stretch to feel comfortable about a playoff birth.  Munez is nearing that bubble too.  He started 4-2 this year before dropping the last three games.  Someone's going to breath life into their season after this game.

Joe (7-2) vs Shawn (5-4)
Big game between two playoff contenders here.  Joe can pretty much wrap up a playoff birth with another win, and this would be a good spot for him to do it.  Shawn is sitting at 5th right now, and needs a win to build a bridge between himself and being out of the playoffs

Adam (5-4) vs Folden (1-8)
The rough season for Folden continues.  I got into the playoff picture last week with my 3rd straight win.  Nothing notable here.  Folden's out of the playoffs.  If I win I improve my playoff situation.

Colin (7-2) vs Rob (7-2)
#1 vs #2 again.  One of these two will be pretty much locking up a playoff spot this weekend.  If not technically than it's only a matter of time.  Time for these two to try to get that first round bye.

Game of the week

Gary (5-4) vs Dan (5-4)
Dan and Gary are the game of the week this week, becdause of the implication.  Gary's in 4th and Dan's in 7th.  If Dan wins this he and Gary could potentially flip flop.  This is the game with the biggest playoff implication of all this week.

That's it this week.  Until next week, Hang low, sweet chariot.

Point Update 10-28

Yo, sorry the point updates haven't been as fast and furious as you're used to.  Life gets busier and I get lazier as I get older.  Let's start with some meat sticks.

Pick'ems

Since our last check in we have some more bonus winners.  All of these are 10 point bonus's.

Week 6: Andrew
Week 7: Munez and Geiss
Week 8: Joe
Week 9: Geiss

We will be hitting the halfway point in the pro pick'em this weekend, so if you're behind it's time to pick up the old slack.

Currently the leader board in the pro pick'em is a log jam.  Geiss, Rob, Andrew, Munez, Shawn, and Jim all a couple points from the top.  Should be a tight race down the stretch.

On the college side, we are past the halfway point and the down slope.  Folden holds a 2 point lead on Jim, a three point lead over Jim, and a 5 point lead over Andrew and myself.  Gary and Dan are right behind the two of us.  Everyone below us has a lot of ground to make up on a lot of people, but they aren't out of it yet.  A very hot finish would be needed though.

FANTASY FOOTBALL

It's not often I'm able to write the fantasy results before Monday Night Football with complete confidence in the results.  However, this is one of those rare days.

Colin has moved into 1st place overall beating Joe.  Joe, by way of tie breakers, has fallen to third place with Rob moving up to 2nd by way of beating John.

Geiss has moved into 4th all on his own.  This was coupled with his defeat of Folden's lowly team, and by Gary and Munez losing.  Munez has dropped two in a row now, while Gary's winning streak has ended.

Munez has dropped all the way from 5th to 8th with the loss, while Gary only drops to 5th.  Shawn holds down the final playoff postion with his high scoring win over Gary.

Below him is me in 7th, who beat Andrew in the annual Johnson bowl.  Andrew falls to 9th at 3-5, while Jim is at 3-5 as well.  Jim started the season 0-4 and has won 3 of his last four to get back into contention.

In the cellar is John at 2-6 and Folden at 1-7.

Preseason Predictions

There are only a few weeks left until predictions are still coming in.  So I'll use today to speak of Conference predictions that absolutely are not going to happen.

SEC Champion
South Carolina, Geiss and Shawn.
In Final Four - Geiss and Shawn
National Runner Up- Shawn

NOT A CHANCE IN HELL

Pac 12 Champion & Final Four team UCLA, Munez, Colin, Folden, John

Reallllly unlikely to happen

Ok, I got bored with this quickly.  Let's wait a couple more weeks on these.

Football God Update - Fantasy Football 10/21/14

We're officially past the halfway point in the Fantasy Football season. However, Football God still has 3 months left to go.  Let's start with fantasy football to see where everyone stands.

Since our last update, The McLane train has kept on moving along.  He finally lost a game last week, ironically losing to a team that only put up 59 points.  With 6 regular season games to play, Joe has a three game lead on the playoffs.  So, even if he struggles down the stretch it shouldn't take more than a win or two to get him into the playoffs.

Colin and Rob hold down the next two spots.  Colin getting a win after losing two weeks in a row, and Rob winning his second consecutive game by less than 3 points.  Rob also has the longest win streak in the league at 4 games.  They both hold a two game lead over a play off spot.

After that we have 6 teams that are either 4-3 or 3-4.  In the playoffs right now are Gary, Munez, and Geiss at 4-3.  Gary is the current 4 seed, the highest scoring team in the league, and is riding a 3 game winning streak.  Munez is at 5 and Geiss at 6.  Only twenty points separating them on the season, both of them coming off of a loss.

At 3-4 is myself, Andrew, and Shawn.  Shawn is on the outside looking in at the 7th seed, with me 35 points behind him at the 8 seed.  Andrew is in 9th, nearly 200 points behind Shawn.

At 2-5 are John and Jim.  After starting 0-4 Jim's team has improved.  He won two in a row before dropping last week.  Neither of these guys are out of the race yet, but a hot streak will really help them.  7 wins may be the flood on getting into the playoffs, so they each may only be able to afford one more loss.

Folden sits at 1-6 after only scoring 38 points last week.  Folden's in some trouble and likely needs to win out to get into the playoffs from here.

Week 8 Schedule

Gary (4-3) vs Shawn (3-4)

Gary goes for 4 in a row against Shawn.  These two represend 2/3rds of the highest scoring teams in the league, so it should be a high scoring match up.

Munez (4-3) Vs Jim (2-5)

Jim needs to win some games to get his way back into the hunt, and beating the teams in front of him is the best way to do it.  Munez probably only needs to go .500 from here to get into the playoffs, so a win here would help him.

John (2-5) vs Rob (5-2)

Same thing for Jim goes for John here.  He's catching Rob at a good time, as Rob's team has some bye's, injuries, and unfavorable match ups this week.  However, John has the worst bench in fantasy football history, and there's an 80% that John leaves Fred Jackson in his line up even though he's out for the next month.

Geiss (4-3) vs Folden (1-6)

Folden needs a win and needs it now.  Fantasy football has a tendency to ebb and flow, and if that's true then Folden is due for a big week.  This would be unfortunate for Geiss, as a loss here could bring him back to the pack a little more.

Adam (3-4) vs Andrew (3-4)

The annual Johnson Bowl.  All bets are off.  both of our teams will score 300 points, RGIII will put us in his next Subway commercial.  The internet will explode.

Game of the Week

Colin (5-2) vs Joe (6-1)

They are #1 and #2 in the standings.  It couldn't be any other game.  To be fair, this game has the potential to be a blowout.  Colin's team loves putting up numbers and all of Joe's RB's are hurt.  But, #1 vs #2 always gets game of the week status.

I'll be back later in the week with a point update.

Football God update 10/7/2014

No point updates this week, but let's go through the things that happened this weekend.

College Predictions

The BCS playoff got turned upside down this weekend when just about everyone decided to take a shit on their season.  Oregon, Alabama, Texas A&M, UCLA, and Oklahoma all lost (just to name a few).  Our top 5 has Fl State, Auburn, Baylor, and 2 fucking teams from Mississippi in it.

Jim's preseason pick of Auburn winning the championship is looking much better now, but with 5 teams ranked in the top #15 remaining on their schedule, who knows what's going to happen.

There are only 8 teams ranked in the top #25 left in the country, and that number is guarenteed to drop this weekend, with Mississippi st and Auburn facing off.  College Football is fun again!

Pro Pick'em & College Pick'em bonus

Andrew picked up the bonus this week.  He tied with Folden and Gary at the top of the college pick'em this week, and correctly predicted a blistering 13 of 15 games in the pros.  In comparison, I only predicted 10 games correct in both of the pick'ems combined.

Fantasy Football Results

Jim got his first win of the year, moving to 1-4, while Folden falls to 1-4 in the loss.

Colin's team puts up it's first bad performance of the year losing his first game and moving to 4-1, while I ended my 3 game losing streak.  I sit now at 2-3.

Munez's team put up pedestrian numbers, falling to 3-2, while unstoppable force Joe moved to 5-0.  This was the first time that Joe's team finished in the top 50% of scoring all year, finishing at 2nd highest point total of the week.

Gary's team exploded for almost 160 points, beating John's team, despite a solid output from his squad.  They both are at 2-3.

Rob beat Andrew's team in the game of the week.  Rob's team didn't really do all that great, but Andrew's team was a basic no show. Rob is 3-2, while Andrew is 2-3

This Week

Adam 2-3 vs Jim 1-4
Munez 3-2 vs John 2-3
Joe 5-0 vs Rob 3-2
Shawn 2-3 vs Folden 1-4
Andrew 2-3 vs Geiss 3-2

Game of the Week

Colin 4-1 vs Gary 2-3

The reason this is the game of the week is simple.  Colin and Gary have scored the most points in the league this year.  Colin at 625 and Gary at 571.  Gary's record doesn't reflect this mainly because of scheduling.  However, his team has put up at least 100 points in 4 out of 5 games.  This one could be a high scoring slobber knocker.

That's it for now.  Have a good week.

Football God VII Update: 9/30/14

What's up slobs.  I'm coming to you guys with your first point update of the season.  It's been a fun year so far, watching the Patriots come back to earth after 13 years of dominance.  The Big 10 be the worst conference in the world.  And, Folden finally getting pubes.

Fantasy Football

At the top of the fantasy leader boards are Joe and Colin, both sitting at 4-0.  There are some distinct differences between their teams though.

Colin is averaging an absurd 137 points a game so far, 21 points ahead of Munez, who is the next closest person.  After the dominating performance Colin put on in fantasy last year, it might be time to bow down to our Ginger overlord and concede the championship to him again.

Joe, on the other hand, is 4-0 despite scoring less than the top half of the league in every week.  Joe is the benefit of good match ups and a little bit of luck.  However, he is also putting up enough consistent numbers to keep winning.

Below them is Munez at 3-1, Shawn at 2-2, and Rob at 2-2.  All three have put up between 110 and 116 points a week to put them in a good spot with great upside.

Dan, Andrew, and John are also 2-2 although they've scored a few points less. Dan averages 93 points a game, Andrew 92 a game, and John 86.

Next, is myself, Gary, and Folden. All three of us are at 1-3.  Despite all of us having good averages (105 points to 97 points scored a week).  The three of us have gone against some stiff competition.  Folden especially, who has gone against an average of 121 pts scored against this year.

Lastly, Jim is struggling at 0-4.  His team is averaging only 68 points a week.  Jim has been a victim of some under performing players (Tom Brady, Eddie Lacy, Larry Fitzgerald), as well as a couple of injuries.

Week 5

Adam (1-3) vs Colin (4-0)
Gary (2-2) vs John (2-2)
Jim (0-4) vs Folden (1-3)
Shawn (2-2) vs Geiss (2-2)
Joe (4-0) vs Munez (3-1)

Game of the Week

Andrew (2-2) vs Rob (2-2)

Realistically, the game of the week should be Joe vs Munez; however, if you weren't locked out of the draft room on the first night that we drafted you understand how awesome this game is.

Andrew and Rob got into a chat room scuffle that led to Rob telling Andrew to join ISIS, and Andrew LOSING HIS MIND.  The winner of this game will surely feel a higher sense of satisfaction, whether they would admit it or not.

Pick'ems

Bonus:

Week 1: Gary (5 pts)
Week 2: Rob (10 pts)
Week 3: Dan (10 pts)
Week 4: Jim (10 pts)
Week 5:
Shawn, Joe , Rob (10 pts)

Those are the people who have gained the pick 'em bonus up to right now.

In the overall scores, Munez holds a lead over a few people right now, Rob being the closest behind.

In college, Folden has a razor thin lead over Andrew and Jim.

So here are the total scores as of now.

Fantasy wins 10 pts + pro pick'em score + college pick'em score+ bonus (if applicable)

Colin 40+45+23=108
Joe 40+45+23+10=118
Munez 30+46+31=107
Shawn 20+46+28 +10=104
Rob 20+48+29+20=117
Dan 20+48+25+10=103
Andrew 20+50+26=96
John 20+25+27=72
Adam 10+46+26=82
Gary 10+45+23+5=83
Folden 10+51+23=84
Jim 0+50+26+10=86

Thoughts:

John is the only person who has more correct predictions in pros than college.  It's like...he almost didn't do his picks for two weeks.

Joe and Colin have the same exact score in pro and college pick'em, and the same record in fantasy football.  WHACKY!

Overall scores and rankings

1. Joe 118
2. Rob 117
3. Colin 108
4. Munez 107
5. Shawn 104
6. Dan 103
7. Andrew 96
8. Jim 86
9. Folden 84
10. Gary 83
11. Adam 82
12. John 72

Everyone please re add up your scores.  I do this quickly.  Peace out.  Let's Go Bucs'

Hibernation Over. Football God Intros and Predictions

Hey guys, sorry I've been so shitty this year about getting any updates in.  But, I'm gonna try to make up for it a little bit now.   I'll start the 2014 season off with everybody's intros.

Your Champion:  Joe McLane

Football God History:
2009: 5th
2010: 5th
2011: 2nd
2012: 4th
2013: 1st

Joe has been extremely consistent, constantly finishing in the upper half of the league every year since he started playing in this league.  No reason to think any different this year.

2014 Prediction: 2nd

Last Years Runner Up:  Colin Reilly

2009: 9th
2011: 10th
2012: 2nd
2013: 2nd

Colin turned the corner a couple of years ago, and it's been either feast or famine for him.  This year he either takes a step forward or takes a step back.

2014 Prediction: 5th

Last years 3rd place finisher:  Rob Klingensmith

2010: 10th
2012: 7th
2013: 3rd

Funny story.  I remember Rob's first year in Football God he had Carolina winning the Superbowl and Oklahoma winning the NCAA Championship.  Both of those teams were so bad, that by October both of Rob's champions were 100% eliminated from contention.  Rob makes ballsy picks, and he either struggles or thrives.

2014 Prediction 11th

2 Time Champion Anthony Folden

2008: 1st
2009: 3rd
2010: 1st
2011: 9th
2012: 3rd
2013: 8th

Anthony has been the most consistently successful player in the history of Football God.  He is one of only three people to play every year, and he has finished in the top three 4 out of 6 times.  However, two of the last three years he's been struggling near the bottom.  He's a lot like the 2014 Steelers.  Trying to reclaim that fame.

2014 Prediction:  6th

2 Time Champion Adam Johnson

2008: 4th (of 4, so not good)
2009: 1st
2010: 2nd
2011: 8th
2012: 1st
2013: 7th

It's always weird typing my name in the third person.  I have two championships and a second place in my history, but I hated my draft 4 rounds into it and was drunk when I made my predictions

2014 Prediction 10th

2011 Champion: Shawn Voyten

2009: 2nd
2010: 8th
2011: 1st
2012: 8th
2013: 6th

Shawn has a history of either crushing it or middling.  It feels like a big bounce back year for him, but I also picked him last year.  So fuck him.

2014 Prediction: 4th

Just Out of the Money Last Year:  Andrew Johnson

2009:  8th
2010: 7th
2011: 4th
2012: 5th
2013: 4th

Andrew has done pretty well under the radar the last few years.  Finishing just out of the money in 2011 and 2013, and only two spots back in 2012.  I get the feeling though that Andrew put less thought and give a shit into Football God as in years past.

2014 Prediction: 9th

Chris Coldsmith (Munez)

2009:  4th
2011: 11th
2012: 6th
2013: 9th

Munez has struggled since his first year in Football God.  He steps out of the box on some of his Predictions, which hasn't always worked out well for him.  Maybe he flips the script.

2014 Prediction:  3rd

Jim Rowing

2008: 3rd
2009: 6th
2010: 4th
2011: 3rd
2012: 9th
2013: 5th

Aside from 2012, Jim has been consistent in Football God.  That's his only trip into the lower 3rd of the standings.  The problem is most of the time he finishes in the middle third, right outside of the money party.  I feel like this year is the year Jim...keeps doing the same

2014 Prediction  8th

John McLane

Finally, my favorite part of the introductions.

2010: 6th
2011: Last
2012: Last
2013: Last

The real question here is how did John not finish in last his first year???  John opened the season this year by forgetting to do his College picks.  The question now, is John the only dynasty we have had in the history of Football God?

2014 Prediction:  Dead Last

(Glass Shatters.  Stone Cold's music hits)

Dan Geissler

2008: 2nd
2009: 7th
2010: 9th
2011: 6th

After a two year hiatus, Dan Geissler has returned in sexy fashion.  Bringing with him a new baby and a South Carolina tan.  Amazing how Geiss has lived down there for two years and still doesn't have as bad of an accent as Bono did after he moved an hour and half away from home.

2014 Predicton:  7th

And, finally, introducing, my prediction for the 2014 Football God Champion

Gary Yingst

Gary has no history, having never played Football God before.  He seems like the type of guy to use smarts and idiotic luck to pull his way to a championship.

2014 Prediction: 1st

Last year I only made four predictions.  I got 1, 2, and 3 wrong.  I said Voyten, Folden, and Andrew.  But, as usual I got the last place team correct.  John, as always.  So, here are all the predictions for this year in order.

Football God VII Predictions

#1 Gary
#2 Joe
#3 Munez
#4 Shawn
#5 Colin
#6 Folden
#7 Geiss
#8 Jim
#9 Andrew
#10 Rob
#11 Adam
#12 John

Why have I picked you where I have?  I have no idea.  I picked John #12 because he always finishes in last.  And, I picked Gary because of Karma.  Karma for how much all of us that know him made fun of him for his misspelling's during a fantasy draft.

I'll be back either later this week or next Monday with the first scoring update of the year.  Salude.

Football God VII Rules

Welcome to another year of Football God.  Thanks for bearing with me while I got everything together.  So, let's start with some deadlines.

Your college and pro Predictions are going to be due at the same time this year.  That will be by August 27th.  That is one day before the college season starts and 1 week before the pro season starts.  Make sure to get those emailed to me by that time.

Money.  I'm going to be moving on September 1st, so I'm going to go ahead and use my parents address for the Football God money this year.  So, make sure you get me your money by September 1st.  It's $40 and you can send check, money order to 1200 pleasant ave, wellsburg, wv 26070.  Do not send cash in the mail, please.

Expanded league:

So, for only the second time in Football God history, we are going to have a 12 team league.  Welcome Gary Yingst to the league for the first time ever.  Also, welcome back co founder, Dan Geissler back for the first time since 2011.

Fantasy Draft position.
Our fantasy draft will be in the reverse order of what it was last year.  So, (per usual) John will be drafting first, since he finished in last.  On the other side of the twin, Joe will be drafting tenth, since he finished in first.  Gary and Geiss will be drafting in 11th and 12th, since they are new this year.

So, the draft order will be

1. John
2. Munez
3. Folden
4. Adam
5. Shawn
6. Jim
7. Andrew
8. Rob
9. Colin
10. Joe
11. Geiss
12. Gary

RULE CHANGES

So, I've changed things up a little bit as far as some of the Predictions go.

With college being a new playoff system, and not the BCS, the scoring has changed here.  You will pick the 4 teams in the playoff.  Also, you will pick the champion and the championship game loser.  You get 0 points for predicting the results incorrectly.  If you have Alabama as the champion and they lose the championship game, you receive no points for that.  Keep this in mind.

Additionally, in college football, we will be picking a couple more awards than usual.  We will pick the Dick Butkus (linebacker) award and Jim Thorpe (defensive back) award.  The point totals for all awards have gone down from 25 points to 20 points also.

Additionally, in the NFL, I have changed a couple things as well.  You will no longer get points for picking the AFC championship game participants.  You will receive a point for picking the loser of the game and you will get points for both teams you have in the Superbowl.  I'm trying to eliminate double points.  There are also new awards given in the NFL awards section.  Take a look on the template and you'll notice.

If there are any questions about any of this, feel free to message or call me.

Football God Final Standings

So, the Broncos lost last night.  Meaning that there weren't many points at risk.  However, it came down to the pick'em.

Colin picked the Broncos, while Joe picked the Seahawks.  This oversight by Colin means that he again is the Football God runner up.  Sort of fitting for a guy who lives in Buffalo to be unable to get over the hump to win the championship.

Congratulations to your winner.  Joe McLane.

1st - Joe McLane 739 ($240)
2nd - Colin Reilly 732 ($120)
3rd - Rob Klingensmith 704 ($40)

To give you an idea of how rapidly Joe rose through the points, and why you shouldn't give up, is that a little more than a month ago he was in 8th place.  Of course, he predicted the Conference championships, Superbowl, some Individual awards right, but his comeback is astonishing none the less.

Here's how the rest of us finished

4th Andrew Johnson 687
5th Jim Rowing 669
6th Shawn Voyten 629
7th Adam Johnson 598
8th Anthony Folden 550
9th Chris Coldsmith 535
10th John McLane 495

Ahh, John.  Finishing in dead last 3 years in a row. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I hope you guys all enjoyed the season.  Winners, I'll be in touch with you about your money.  We'll see you again next year.

Last point update before the final.

Last nights awards show sort of changed things up a bit.  For an idea of who got points and who won, look below.

MVP - Peyton Manning (25 pts)

Predicted by: Jim, Andrew, Joe, Colin, Munez

OPOY - Peyton Manning (25 pts)

Predicted by: Jim, Andrew, Joe, Munez

O-ROY- Eddie Lacy (25 pts)

Predicted by: Andrew, John

Noone predicted D-ROY, Coach of the year or DPOY.

So, Individual awards points went like this

75 - Andrew
50 - Jim, Munez, Joe
25 - John, Colin

The other 4 of us received 0 points.

So here are the standings going into the Superbowl.

1. Colin 732
2. Joe 724
3. Rob 704
4. Andrew 687
5. Jim 669
6. Shawn 614
7. Adam 598
8. Folden 550
9. Munez 535
10. John 495

So only thing left to do is make your Super Bowl Pick'em and wait.

Be back with final point totals tomorrow.

Colin 707
Rob 704
Joe 674
Jim 619
Shawn 614
Andrew 612
Adam 598
Folden 550

John 470

I'll update the points tomorrow once the awards have been announced.  But, it's looking like a 3 team race between Joe, Rob, and Colin.  The points will be updated tomorrow.

Football God Update 1-13

Things are coming down to the end.  Conference championships are set.

You received 20 points for each correct prediction in this.

Big Ups go to Joe who predicted all 4 of the conference champions to get himself back into things.

Also, the wildcard and divisional rounds of the playoffs were worth 5 points for each pick'em correct.

Here is where each of those stand

Conf Preseason Prediction

Joe 80
Rob 40
Colin 40
Munez 40
John 40
Andrew 40
Jim 40
Adam 20
Shawn 20
Folden 20

Playoff Pick'em

Joe 25
Rob 20
Colin 15
Andrew 15
Adam 15
Folden 15
Jim 10
Shawn 10
Munez 0
John 0

So, with only a few weeks left, here are where our points are

1. Colin 687
2. Rob 664
t3. Shawn 614
t3. Joe 614
5. Jim 599
6. Adam 598
7. Andrew 572
8. Folden 540
9. John 470
10. Munez 465

The conference championship games are worth 10 points each in predictions so make sure you get those picks in.

Additionally, going forward.  The only predictions that are yet to come in are the NFL individual awards and the Super Bowl winner and participants.

To get an idea of how people are trending.  You would need to take a look at the predictions document i sent you all.

Currently, Joe, John, and Rob have both of their superbowl teams and their winner left.

7 people altogether still have their Superbowl winner playing.

Although Shawn is in 3rd place, he is trending downward.  No more Superbowl points available.

The indi awards are what's really going to spell things out.  Currently,  Andrew, Joe, Munez, and Jim all have Manning winining the MVP and O-POY award.  This is likely to happen, which could bring Andrew, Jim, and Joe all into the mix for things.

All that being said.  I haven't the slightest fucking clue.  Let's wait and see what happens next week, then we should have an idea of where we will end up.

Football God Update 1/6/2014

Hey guys, things are starting to shake out.  Our last big bonus of the year is in the Bowl Pick'em, where the winner gets a 20 point bonus. A recap of the way the points went are like this.

Regular bowl game, 2 points
BCS game, 5 points
Championship, 10 points

That means that as of tonight you would need to be within 10 points to have a shot to get the 20 point bonus. Here are our standings

John 46
Shawn 46
Munez 45
Jim 43
Joe 39
Colin 36
Folden 36
Andrew 34
Rob 34
Adam 29

This means that almost everyone still has a shot at this tonight, so good luck.  I'll do a point update tomorrow with the bonus of college pick'em included.

Point Update, as of Sunday Night

Hey, I meant to do an update, but I have been busy as shit because of the holidays.  So, I'll give you guys a mini update so everyone knows where we are.

Congrats to Colin on winning the fantasy footbal league.

Name    Fantasy/Pro Pred/Coll Pred/ Pick'em/      Bonus                     Bowl
Shawn  60           75           40           298                         35           16
Jim         130         75           40           241                         10           20
Folden  60           60           80           244                         25           12
Adam    50           105         40           299                         30           8
Andrew  60           75           40           253                         45           18
Joe         70           90           40           245                         15           16
John      80           60           20           189                         5              22
Rob        150         75           40           240                         35           14
Colin      190         120         0              256                         20           18
Munez  20           90           20           220                         20           16

This is a very crude copy and paste of all of our points so far.

You can see if you look at the pro predictions Colin also has the most points in that so far.  I haven't done any of the points for the last couple of days.  But as of Sunday, this is all accurate.  So, read this over and if you have any questions on how I got your point total let me know.  Here are the point leaders as of 12-29-13.

1. Colin 604         6. Andrew 491
2. Rob 574           7. Folden 481
3. Adam 532       8. Joe 479
4. Shawn 524      9. Munez 386
5. Jim 516             10. John 376

With Colin winning fantasy football and getting the most points in the Pro Predictions he has pulled away from the pack a little bit.  Other than that, only 75 ponts seperates 2nd through 8th.  So, the money is still very much up for grabs.

There are still the post season winners to factor in, as well as the regular season awards.  Still some college bowl games and the bowl game bonus to give out.

I'll update again next week after the National Championship game with some new point updates.

Do not forget to do your pick'em for the playoff games.
