<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", Trebuchet, Verdana, sans-serif;">

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", Trebuchet, Verdana, sans-serif;">Let's remember where we all stood at the last update. We didn't have a lot that needed finished up, so how much could things change? Apparently, a lot is the answer.

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", Trebuchet, Verdana, sans-serif;">

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", Trebuchet, Verdana, sans-serif;">John, Gary, Hale, Joe, Folden and Jim all correctly predicted that the Chiefs would win the Superbowl. And, where that didn't effect people at the bottom of the predictions, it certainly did everyone else. The 8 points for that prediction was a major swing for something that was so close to begin with. Several people dropped pretty far in this.

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", Trebuchet, Verdana, sans-serif;">

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", Trebuchet, Verdana, sans-serif;">Jim and Folden crushed it for 1st and 2nd, and Hale, John, and Gary all tied for 3rd. Here are our actual standings in the Pro Predictions.

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", Trebuchet, Verdana, sans-serif;">

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", Trebuchet, Verdana, sans-serif;">Several people also had Kyler Murray as the OROY and a couple had Nick Bosa as the DROY. This led to some big swings in the standings.

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", Trebuchet, Verdana, sans-serif;">

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", Trebuchet, Verdana, sans-serif;">

Alex dropped 3 points, Shawn dropped 3 points, Joe rose 6 points. Rob fell 3 points. This was a huge swing. It changed the bonus points slightly but not enough to make much mention. In the Pick'em Alex finished in 2nd, Gary 3rd, and Rob 1st. Shawn finished ahead of Munez breaking his tie. Joe ahead of Eplin.

Lots has happened since last month, let's get into it.

The college football season ended with LSU winning over Clemson. many people had Clemson losing the National Championship, so let's look at how this impacted our total standings.

Rob won the damn thing with 42 points. I was in 2nd with 37. Hale one point behind with 36. John one point behind him with 35. After that was a pretty drastic drop off.

Here's where everyone ended up.

Rob 12
Adam 11
Hale 10
John 9
Gary 7.5
Folden 7.5
Joe 6
Alex 5
Jim 4
Gary 3
Shawn 2
Munez 1

Bowl Pick'em came and went with me winning by about 30 points over the next closest person. After that was quite a log jam, with Hale at 642 and Shawn at 638. 4th and 9th were only seperated by about 40 points total. Here's where everyone finished there.

Adam 12
Hale 11
Shawn 10
Jim 9
Alex 8
Joe 7
Rob 6
Gary 5
Chris 4
Eplin 3
Folden 2
John 1

Obviously, this effected our bonus points as well, with the top spot in each getting 4 bonus points, 2nd getting 2, and 3rd getting 1. The bonus points was also effected by the Pro Predictions. Which are almost complete.

As of now, almost everyone has the Chiefs either winning or losing the Superbowl so our standings will still drastically change in that. There are still the individual awards to be given out as well.

So, for now. Jim is leading with 34 points, Folden is close behind with 32, and then it is an old school cluster fuck the rest of the way down. Here's where we stand.

Jim 12
Folden 11
Eplin 9.5
Hale 9.5
Alex 8
Munez 6.5
Gary 6.5
Rob 4.5
Shawn 4.5
Adam 2.5
John 2.5
Joe 1

In the Pro Pick'em we're just about finished too. Rob has locked up the top spot and the bonus points. Half of the positions are set in stone. Gary and Alex are still tied for 2nd. Shawn and Munez are tied for 5th. And Eplin can still tie Joe.

So. Add everything together and where are we?

1. Rob 84.5
2. Alex 76.5
3. Adam 74
4. Shawn 71.5
5. Hale 70.5
6. Gary 59.5
7. Folden 51.5
8. Joe 51
9. Munez 48
10. Eplin 46
11. Jim 39
12. John 30

I'll attach all the supporting documentation in emails if anyone wants to double check things.
I don't really have the time to go through everything right now, but wanted to just make a couple of quick announcements.

Congrats to Alex on winning the fantasy football league. He started 1-5 and ended up winning every game but 1 the rest of the way to make the playoffs. I truly haven't seen a comeback like it. Good for you, Alex.

Alex wins the 4 bonus points that comes with this, Shawn comes in 2nd and receives 2 bonus points. Joe comes in 3rd and gets 1 bonus point.

The bowl pick'em is underway, no real updates on this yet. Those will come after the weekend.

The Pro pick'em is down to the last week with a lot of games. REMEMBER to make your picks throughout the playoffs.

SURVIVOR POOL is down to 2 teams, Alex & Rob. I lost last week by picking Fuck Hodges and the Steelers.

Loser's Pool is also in the last week, with Gary and I still fighting it out for 2nd place, with Shawn having sewn it up long ago.

That's all I got this week. Just wanted to update people on the happenings.

Adam "Don" Johnsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14381477187500924038noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2107462492393955429.post-39647679719777986562019-12-17T06:19:00.003-08:002019-12-17T06:19:57.185-08:00First Point Update of the SeasonWe've finally reached the point where I can give an involved and detailed status of where we stand on the season. Let's start off:

Fantasy Football:

Shawn & Alex won their games this weekend, leaving the two of them in the finals. Shawn gets the honor of getting to be the last team that gets the shit kicked out of them by Alex this season on the way to his inevitable overtaking of the world.

Hale & Joe will play for 3rd place and 4th place points.

Over the weekend, Munez beat me locking up 5th place and I took home 6th. Here are your points as of now. (Shawn, Alex, Hale, and Joe are showing the average of their points that are available to them.

Shawn 11.5
Alex 11.5
Joe 9.5
Hale 9.5
Munez 8
Adam 7
Rob 6
Folden 5
Gary 4
John 3
Jim 2
Eplin 1

College Pick'em

Rob ran away with the college pick'em, Shawn came in 2nd, and Folden 3rd. This is important because there are bonus points given to the top 3 in everything except for the survivor and losers pool.

Our Final point totals in this go as follows.

Rob 12
Shawn 11
Folden 10
Alex 9
Munez 8
Gary 7
Adam 5.5
Joe 5.5
Eplin 4
John 3
Hale 2
Jim 1

Survivor Pool

Me, Alex, and Rob still are in the Survivor Pool with 2 weeks to play. Here are the points in this one:

Adam 11
Rob 11
Alex 11
Gary 9
Hale 8
Eplin 7
Shawn 5.5
Joe 5.5
Jim 4
Folden 3
John 2
Munez 1

Losers Pool:

This one has Shawn already winning it with Me and Gary fighting it out for 2nd and 3rd place:

Shawn 12
Gary 10.5
Adam 10.5
Eplin 9
Rob 8
Joe 6.5
Munez 6.5
Jim 5
John 4
Hale 3
Alex 2
Folden 1

These four categories are either complete or near complete, there wont' be a lot of variance left in these. However, the next ones still have a lot of changes to go through

PRO PREDICTIONS & BOWL PICK 'EM

I don't have any points tallied for this yet, so these are the x factor going forward in the league.

Pro Pick'em

With two weeks left in the bowl pick'em it's really tight. At the top Gary holds onto a 2 game lead, with Alex and Rob tied for 2nd behind them. Alex had a rare bad week to fall.

Munez is in 4th with 117, with me and Hale tied at 5th with 116.

After that there is a drop off to Shawn at 110 Folden at 117 and Eplin at 106 in the 7-9 spot.

Our points (as of now)

Gary 12
Rob 10.5
Alex 10.5
Munez 9
Adam 7.5
Hale 7.5
Shawn 6
Folden 5
Eplin 4
Joe 3
John 2
Jim 1

This brings us to our College Predictions. I'm going to attach the college predictions sheet after this so everyone can see where we are at this point.

In the top 4, no one was able to get more then 2 teams in the finals. Everyone got Clemson, and then there was a smattering of Ohio st and Oklahoma for some people.

At this point, 6 people have their champion still in teh running, 7 people have their runner up. All of these are Clemson for everyone, (except for me, having Ohio State and Clemson)

This means that if Clemson makes the finals, the point differences could vary greatly.

As of now here's where everyone stands:

Rob 12
Adam 11
Hale 10
John 9
Folden 8
Joe 7
Eplin 6
Alex 5
Gary 4
Jim 3
Voyten 2
Munez 1

Rob has 38 points in the lead. I'm 2nd with 33. I think the only way Rob can fall out of the top spot here is if Ohio State wins the National Championship. Other then that, depending on Clemson winning or losing the National Titlea lot of people could jump or fall.

In the attachment, the Yellow highlights in the individual awards represent getting a finalist in the category who didn't win. You received 1 point for that this year.

The rewarding of bonus points for someone being the only person to get a correct prediction in a category goes as follows.

Adam - Ohio St winning the Big 10
Voyten - FAU winning Conference USA

That is it.

Bonus Points.

I'll also attach the bonus point spread sheet. If you can figure out my weird method to follow it. But here's the overall totals here.
So let's see where we stand.

Fantasy Football

The regular season has come to an end, and we have some resolutions. Alex made the unbelievable comeback of his team starting 0-5 yet he still made the playoffs. He won 7 of his last 8 games in the best comeback story I think in the 12 years of this league. Well done Alex.

He beat Rob in an elimination type game, jumping him via the points scored tiebreaker.

Joe hit a late season losing streak, dropping him to a tie at 7-6 along with Rob and Alex, his points scored helping him to stay in the 5 seed.

I had a late season surge to power myself to 8-5 and the 4 seed, helped a little bit by Folden's strategy of not playing a QB or WR in the last game of the season.

Munez finishes at 9-4 and in the 3 seed, tied with Shawn and Hale, but beaten by the point tie break.

Shawn and Hale end as our 1 and 2 seed and enjoy the luxuries of a first round bye.

Points so Far

Rob was in great playoff position, but went 1-3 down the stretch, and just about every other game went the worst way possible for Rob.

Folden fell apart at the end finishing in 8th.

Gary pulled out 2 wins to end the season, which brought him from last to 9th, which is a big difference of 3 points in the final overall football god standings.

John finished in 10th, Jim 11th, and Eplin's 7 game losing streak ends the year for him in 12th.

Rob 6
Folden 5
Gary 4
John 3
Jim 2
Eplin 1

Shawn and Hale are guarenteed somewhere between 12-9 points. The rest of us could fall to 8 or 7 points.

Matchups
\
Munez Vs Alex

Man this one looks bad for Munez. Alex's team is putting up about 150 points a game. That being said, noone's stifled their opponents scores this year like Munez. He's like the bitter poison pill to everyone he plays.

The winner gets Hale the Snail.

Adam Vs Joe

I've been lucky enough to play Joe twice this year and beat him twice this year. I feel like this luck is going to run out. I've got some injury issues and Joe's team looks like it's finally fully healthy.

Survivor Pool

The survivor Pool has dropped to 4 people with 4 weeks to go. Rob lost his 1 game cushion by choosing Carolina last week. This loss also knocked Hale out of the running.

Eplin was able to make it through the tiebreak round with the high points for the group of people who got knocked out a few weeks ago.

Here's where our points are laid out so far.

Hale 8
Eplin 7
Shawn 5.5
Joe 5.5
Jim 4
Folden 3
John 2
Munez 1

Losers Pool

The losers pool is closer to it's resolution. Shawn already won the losers pool. Rob & Eplin were just eliminated tied for 4th. So they'll play things out for 4th and 5th. And Gary and I are playing for 2nd and 3rd. Here's our point totals at the moment:

Shawn 12
Adam 11 or 10
Gary 11 or 10
Rob 9 or 8
Eplin 9 or 8
Munez 6.5
Joe 6.5
John 4
Hale 3
Alex 2
Folden 1

College Pick'em

We're in our final week of the pick'em, and Rob's got that shit locked up. He's up by 10 and there are only 8 games available to pick from. Shawn and Alex are a point apart for 2nd, Munez and Folden likely fighting it out for 4th and 5th. It appears there's some room for everyone to rise of fall a little bit.

Pro Pick'em

Alex is trying to go wire to wire in the lead here. He's got a several game lead. We'll get more into that next week.

The College Pick'em points will start rolling in next week, we'll get to that then too.

Bonus Points.

So, I'll try to do as comprehensive of a review of who has earned what in our bonus points so far.
Gary 4
Adam 4
Jim 2 1/2
Eplin 1 1/2
John 1 1/2

Of course this is without factoring any category winners or the prediction bonus's so that's going to change big time. There are only two weeks left in the bonus points for pick'ems. So, the number we get from that will be everyone's baseline going forward so I don't have to add these up again.

So, basically, at this point, I still can't give you guys a mock of the standings. However, once the college predictions mostly roll in tomorrow we can start with some mocked standings so everyone can see where they are. Those will of course be without pro predictions or the bowl pick'em.

ALSO, Everyone sign up for Bowl pick'em on ESPN. You should have gotten an email link. Thanks guys. Hopefully an update next week!
We got some fucking movement on the Survivor Pool. Four eliminations: to Shawn, Jim, Eplin, and Joe, knocks the Survivor Pool down from 9 to 5. Per usual, the Saints fuck the chicken on it, getting blown out to the Falcons when they were 13 point favorites.

This leaves Gary and Rob as the only two people without a strike. Me, Hale, and Alex are still alive with a strike a piece.

Shawn, Jim, Eplin, and Joe will be fighting it out for the 4 to 7 point range of things.

The Losers Pool was even nuttier. Literally everyone lost. Shawn got his first strike, and that was good enough to finish in 1st place for the year, netting him 12 points in the overall standings. Everyone else, Rob, Joe, Eplin, Munez, Me, Gary, will be fighting for the 11 to 6 point boost. Congrats to Shawn.

College Football Predictions:

I was able to get a much better look at how things are able to play out this week. I'm going to be sending this as a link through facebook so you can follow along.

The color coding is pretty simple. If it's in Green it is confirmed, if it's in yellow it's unlikley to occur, and if it's in Red it won't occur.

The only predictions to come 100% accurate so far are Folden's Willie Taggart fired prediction and Rob's Chris Ash fired prediction. I want to hgihlight a coupel of places where people are looking good.

In the Big 12 a lot of people went Texas this year. With only a few games left Oklahoma is looking poised to repeat. This benefits Joe, Rob, Munez, Eplin, Alex, John, Hale, and Folden.

Somehow I was the only person pick either Ohio St or Minnesota to make the big 10 title game. This would be a huge boost for me, if Ohio State were to play Minnesota and beat them.

The AAC is looking very much like UCF won't be winning that. This is a big boost to Voyten, Hale, and Rob who have Memphis.

5 people took Georgia winning the SEC this year. I'm unsure if this will happen, as it's looking increasingly like Alabama won't be in the SEC championship. LSU has 3 conference games left and would need to lose 2 of them for Bama to get into that game.

Alex, Munez, and Folden are the only ones hurt by Washington's fall off this year, Oregona nd Utah are fairly split between the rest of us.

At this point, almost everyone's picks are still in the running. Outside of anyone who chose Texas or Michigan. Otherwise everyone's picks are all still in the running.

Fantasy Football

Technically, I guess, Eplin and Gary aren't eliminated mathematically yet. But, let's presume they're chances of making it in this are so small that we'll leave them out of discussion until we see a win or two.

Let's also assume that Joe, Shawn, and Hale are in the playoffs. All three are at 7-3 and have a 3 game lead over the 7th place team.

Today we'll focus on teams 4-10

Folden 4-6 vs Rob 6-4
Jim 4-6 vs Shawn 7-3
Alex 4-6 vs Eplin 3-7
John 4-6 vs Hale 7-3
Munez 6-4 vs Joe 7-3
Adam 5-5 vs Gary 3-7

So, the only game between teams that are still fighting is between Rob and Folden. Like half of Folden's team is either on bye or hurt, so let's sea how this goes. I mean the guy's receiving core is Curits Samuel, Cole Beasley, and N'Keal Harry, a guy I've literally never heard of. These are either the most savvy plays of all time or Folden's just fucked.

Otherwise, Alex has fought back from a 0-5 start to win 4 out of his last 5 getting up to 7th place and being a win and a lose from me away from being in the playoff picture. He has a 50 piont lead on me in points for hte tie breaker. If he loses the Folden, Jim, and John all could tie me with a win this weekend and a loss by me. It's most likely I would keep my point tie breaker over each of them unless I did absolutely nothing.

If Folden, Jim, Alex, John, Joe and Gary were to win though that would cause some craziness. 4-10 would all be seperated by 1 game. We'll likely endu p somewhere in between.

That's it for this week.Adam "Don" Johnsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14381477187500924038noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2107462492393955429.post-51926163658860937972019-11-05T05:51:00.005-08:002019-11-05T05:51:56.729-08:00Update in the CityAnother wicked weekend has come and gone, and here we are knee deep in a soggy November rain, basking in the memories of warmer days. Onto the update

NFL was wild this weekend with the hometeam winning every game except for the Monday night game. That fucked up a lot of people's picks and a couple of survivor pools. So let's start with that.

Survivor Pool & Losers Pool

Survivor Pool took it's 3rd victim of the season, with Folden choosing the Browns and paying for it. He's now in 10th in that giving him 3 points on the year for Survivor. The point totals go as follows

3. Folden
2. John
1. Munez

That leaves 9 people to go in this pool and man could we use some movement. We're more then halfway done on the year, and there are still 5 people without a strike. Those are:

Me, Alex, Gary, Hale, and Rob.

People with one strike are: Eplin, Shawn, Joe, and Jim.

It would figure that something has to give at some point. For those unaware of tiebreaker rules, if we go the whole season without a winner. The tie is broken based off of when the person got their first strike. So at the end of the year if it's Hale and Joe as the final 2. Hale would get first place points because he went longer without his first strike.

If people don't have a strike, or got strikes on the first week, then I'm out of guesses and the people just split the points. So, 12 and 11, each person would get 11.5.

The losers pool has had significantly more movement. Jim got knocked out by picking Pittsburgh this weekend, which puts him in 8th place gaining 5 points. The points in this one are:

5. Jim
4. John
3. Hale
2. Alex
1. Folden

Everyone else has 1 strike, except for Shawn who is pushing along without any. This pool could be over in any given week. Although that's unlikely.

Pro Pick'em

After a terrible week from Alex, the pro pick'em has finally tightened up. Shout out to Hale for obstaining on picks, realizing this week was going to be difficult. Gary took advantage of this the most, picking up 8 points on Alex and moving into 2nd place overall. He has a 4 game lead over me, which is where the bottleneck starts.

8 games seperates me at 3rd and Joe at 10th. So with 8 weeks to go in the regular season, there's plenty of room for everyone to move.

College Pick'em

College is tight. Munez has a 1 game lead over Rob and Shawn and a 3 game lead over Jim. Folden and Alex are only 4 back.

Fantasy Football

We almost had the perfect chaos weekend, but Gary's QB injury prevented him from winning. Overall, we have 4 weeks left and everyone is still technically still in it. Let's go through the standings.

Joe 6-3
Rob 6-3
Shawn 6-3
Hale 6-3
Adam 5-4
Munez 5-4
John 4-5
Folden 4-5
Alex 3-6
Eplin 3-6
Jim 3-6
Gary 3-6

3 games separating 1st through 12th is pretty good variance. four 6-3 teams, four 3-6 teams, two 5-4 teams, 2 4-5 teams. It's almost beautiful to look at.

What does this mean for playoffs? Well, you need to look at next week's schedule to get a better idea of where this might shake out. Consider this the 2nd part of potential fantasy football chaos that could ensue, based off of the schedule.

1. Joe 6-3 vs 2. Rob 6-3
5. Adam 5-4 vs 6. Munez 5-4
4. Hale 6-3 vs 12. Gary 3-6
3. Shawn 6-3 vs Folden 4-5

So the first 3 games. Rob and Joe are basically playing for 1st and a playoff spot guarenteed (based off of their points). So there game is pretty much irrelevant for this articles purposes.

Gary needs to win or he's done. That simple. He needs to win out plain and simple.

Munez and are playing at 5-4. This means that one of the playoff teams next week will be 5-5, whether it's me, Munez, Folden, or John (if they both won)

Folden needs to beat Shawn to put himself into good position down the stretch to make the playoffs.

Here's where things get interesting, and where the playoffs more then likely start for 4 teams this weekend.

Alex 3-6 vs John 4-5
Eplin 3-6 vs Jim 3-6

Simply put, Jim or Eplin are out of it after this weekend. And Alex is out if he loses. John's very low points for likely puts him out if he loses too, so let's say this is playoffs starting for these teams.

Let's put out a scenario.

Alex wins, Gary wins, Folden wins. Our standings next week

1. J or R 7-3
2. J or R 6-4
3. Shawn 6-4
4. Hale 6-4
5. A or M 6-4
6. A, F or M 5-5
7. A, F, or M 5-5

Then you have

John 4-6
Alex 4-6
Gary 4-6
Jim or Eplin 4-6

If this happens, we'll have 5 teams within one game of the playoffs with 3 to play. That's where things go nuts.

Bonus Points:

I'm going to do a full on bonus point update here soon and let everyone know where they stand.

Pro & College Predictions:

We're 1 week away from when college predictions can be talked about. That, fantasy and bonus points will be the soul update for next week.

This could be the last weekend where everyone is relevant.

1. Joe (6-2)
4. Shawn (5-3)

3 Rob (5-3)
5 Adam (5-3)

These games are your top rung teams playing it out for postion. A loss likely keeps all the 5-3 teams in the playoffs, so they are important for seeding and trying to secure a better chance at playoffs.

2. Hale 6-2)
11. Alex (2-6)

8 Eplin (3-5)
9 Folden (3-5)

7 John (4-4)
12 Jim (2-6)

6 Munez (4-4)
10 Gary (3-5)

Here's where your schedule matters most. 3 games between people at 2-6, 3-5, or 4-4. So let's play out a couple of scenarios.

If Alex or Jim loses, they're done. Folden & Eplin will result in a 3-6 and a 4-5 team, and Munez and Gary could result in two 4-5 teams.

If Alex, Jim, and Gary win. We'll end up with a 6-12 that looks like this.

Munez 4-5
Gary 4-5
Eplin or Folden 4-5
John 4-5
Eplin or Folden 3-6
Jim 3-6
Alex 3-6

What this means is that we'll have 6 teams within one game of the playoffs, also everyone would be within 2 games of the 2nd seed (without tiebreakers). In this scenario only Joe is really safe for the playoffs for the time being.

Of course it's more likely that we end up with some sort of mixture of this and at least 1 team will be eliminated from contention this weekend.

Survivor Pool & Losers Pool

With 8 weeks down. We have a little bit of movement in the pools.

The survivor Pool hasn't changed much, all we have figured out there is that John is 11th and Munez is 12th.

Me, Alex, Gary, Hale, and Rob are all without a strike and we're all clear of Week 9 having picked the Niners on Thursday night.

Eplin has 1 strike and also picked the niners. Otherwise, Folden, Jim, Joe, and Shawn all have one strike and are yet to go this week.

Losers Pool

The losers pool has had more movement. Currently the points given out in that one go as follows

4. John
3. Hale
2. Alex
1. Folden

Everyone else has 1 strike, except for Shawn who is strikeless. Munez, Eplin, Gary, Joe, and Rob are clear of week 9 having chosen Arizona in the Thursday Night game. Shawn, Jim, and I still have to pick.

Pick 'ems

Pro pick'em is still pretty tight for hte most part, except for Alex. Alex has an 8 game lead over me and Hale for 2nd. Gary is two behind us. Munez 3, Jim 4, Rob 5, Folden 6.

In college Munez has a two game lead over Folden, 3 over Rob and Sahwn, and 4 over Alex. Jim is right behind at 5 back.

I'll be getting a bonus point update here soon so everyone can see where they stand. I will even be able to mock up some standings in the next week or two.

That's it for now. Have a good weekend. I'll try to get back after the weekend with some updated College Predictions as we head down the stretch.

Got to work super early and am bored, so I'm filling time with a small update on what happened last week.

Survivor & Losers Pools

The survivor pool tie breaker for 11th and 12th place was settled when Munez lost. This means he'll be getting the 1 point and John will be getting 2 points. Noone else got a strike, so that still leaves us with 5 people with no strikes and 5 people with one strike.

11. John
12. Munez

The losers pool had a little more action. The Steelers ass kicking of the chargers gave Joe his first strike of the season, leaving Shawn as the only person in the loser's pool not to get a strike. More importantly, Hale got his 2nd strike on the backs of the Steelers dropping him out in 10th place in the losers pool.

10. Hale
11. Alex
12. Folden

Obviously the benefit for the people out in each pool is that they're doing fine in the other one.

Fantasy Football

Fantasy went the way of parody in about the best it could last week. 3 of the 4-1 teams lost, leaving just one person at 5-1 (Joe). 2nd-11th place now is differentiated between a bunch of 4-2, 3-3, and 2-4 teams. Meaning that noone is out of this yet. Alex even got his first win this past week, and even though it's an uphill battle, two wins in a row would have him at 3-4 and possibly able to make a move. Here are your week 7 matchups:

Adam 3-3 vs Eplin 3-3
Joe 5-1 vs John 3-3
Hale 4-2 vs Folden 2-4
Jim 2-4 vs Alex 1-5
Munez 4-2 vs Shawn 4-2
Rob 3-3 vs Gary 2-4

Most notably in this is going to be the plight of the three 2-4 teams. A win by Gary, Jim, and Folden this week would push us into a further wide open field.

College Predictions

I figured I could do a short update on the state of things. It's really to early in the conference schedules to discount much. But there are a couple of things. It's looking like everyone that had Nebraska in the conference championship game are likely to lose out. The same could be said for people who picked Houston and Iowa, but again it's still to early to be sure.

The College Football Playoff has a little bit more variance though. It's safe to say that my and Gary's pick of Texas and Alex's pick of Washington are done for. Obviously everyone's Clemson and Alabama pics are safe, so that's not really a gain for anyone (except for Eplin who left Alabama out of the playoff.)

Most people had some sort of combination of Michigan, Georgia, or some other wild card team in the playoff that already has 1 loss.

Because of that everyone's already in danger. The biggest person in danger is Eplin who, although all 4 of his teams are still available (Oregon, Michigan, Clemson, and Georgia), 3 of them are one loss away from being for sure eliminated.

Also, congrats to Rob on having the first correct prediction of the year in college, with Chris Ash from Rutgers already getting his ass fired.

Not much to be said in the pro predictions yet, it's still a few weeks too early.

Lastly, our week 6 bonus goes to Alex for his combined predictions. Our bonus for most points goes to Rob and our bonus for most points for a losing team goes to Jim.

I apologize. Life gets lifey every once in awhile. That being said, I'm going to go through essentially where stand in the pick'ems, pools, bonus points, and fantasy sports. I'll leave the Predictions for another post.

FANTASY FOOTBALL

Big surprise, we're 5 games into the season and we have a pretty big difference in the have's and have not's. This seems to happen with us every year.

We have 4 teams tied at 4-1 at the top.

Joe

Munez

Hale

Shawn

After that I am the sole person at 3-2

After this we have 5 teams at 2-3

Gary at 1-4, and Alex at 0-5. Alex's opponents are averaging 160 points against him a week. Poor bastard. This was butt fucked home by Joe putting up 240 points on him this past week.

So, obviously with Rob being in the six spot at 2-3 for the playoffs, no one is eliminated yet. With 4 teams at 4-1, it does shrink the likely amount of spots.

Let's look at the Week 6 Schedule

Hale 4-1 vs Joe 4-1

Munez 4-1 vs Eplin 2-3

Shawn 4-1 vs Rob 2-3

Jim 2-3 vs Gary 1-4

Adam 3-2 vs John 2-3

Folden 2-3 vs Alex 0-5

So there's a little bit of hope for the underlings here. Either Joe or Hale will be 4-2 and with some tough matchups we may have Shawn and Munez lose as well. That would tighten things up in a fun way.

On a fun note, Joe's team scored 243 pts last week and Gary's team has scored 460 points all season.

Fun Note Part 2: We've had 3 trades this year in fantasy, and 2 of them I had nothing to do with. So, keep it up. This shit is fun.

Survivor Pool

We've had our first casualties of the year. Munez and John each took the Chiefs, eliminating them from the Pool. They will now play a sudden death to see who gets the 1 point and who gets the 2. Next loss loses.

The rest of us are playing for the 12 points for the winner. 10 remain and at this point, Me, Alex, Rob, Gary, and Hale still have no strikes. Eplin, Folden, Joe, Jim, and Shawn all have one strike.

Losers Pool

Our losers pool has 2 casualties as well, but those are more set in stone. Folden went out in week 4, giving him the nice fat first 1 point of the year. Alex went out in week 5 with Indi, so he'll have 2 points going to his final score at the end of the year.

Aside from that, Joe and Shawn are the only two who don't have a strike in loseres pool. Everyone else is already clinging on with one strike.

Pick'ems

We wont' get too far into these, because these are as fluid as they come, but we'll go over the top of the pops.

Munez and Folden are on top of college with 73 points a piece. Joe and Jim are 2 back and Alex is 3. Only 5 points separate the 1st place from 8th place, so let's move on.

Pro Pick'em has a little more separation. 10 points separate 1st through 8th on this one. Alex is 1st with 48, me 2nd with 45. Folden and Hale at 43. Eplin is already 16 points back, with Joe and John barely in front of him.

But, since that's fluid we'll use this a chance to segway into our bonus points.

I'll type this for Alex as a first time player more then for anyone else, but we do have a change this year.

Each week, bonus points are passed out for season long, time invasive things like fantasy football and pick'ems. This is done for two reasons, 1 to give us an extra category for the end of the year for our ROTO scoring, but also to add extra importance to things that are more time consuming or are more difficult to accomplish.

This is why there are no bonus points for Survivor or Losers pool anymore, because although it is strategic and difficult to win, it's not nearly as difficult as the other categories.

So, the way our pick'em bonus works, is that whoever has the most predictions correct out of the cooresponding week on yahoo gets a point. So, even though week 1 of college and pros were played a week apart, whoever has the most correct predictions in those week 1 tabs on yahoo gets the bonus point. This is different then how we used to do it, and is simply been changed to make my life easier counting this shit up.

So your bonus points in the pick'ems have gone as follows

Week 1: Munez & Folden

Week 2: Hale & Rob

Week 3: Alex

Week 4: Alex

Week 5 Folden

If you tie with someone, you don't split the bonus point, everyone who ties gets a full bonus point.

There are also two bonus points in Fantsasy, One for the person with the highest weekly score, and 2nd for the person with the highest score that lost.

Your Fantasy bonus points this year have so far gone to

Week 1: Shawn and Alex

Week 2: Rob and Alex

Week 3: Hale and Rob

Week 4: Rob and John

Week 5: Joe and Folden

I think that covers all of the important stuff for this week. Other then Jon Gruden getting fired has gotten almost everyone a correct pro prediction already.

So, I'll try to update again next week and hit up the college and pro predictions.

I'm doing the weekly bonus points based off the week that it says on Yahoo. Therefore even though Week 1 of college football and Week 1 of the NFL are played a week apart, the bonus point will go according to it just being Week 1. This is simply to make it less consfusing for me when doing bonus points.

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">ROTO SCORING

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">This is in essence, THE change this year. First I'll explain the process, then I'll explain the reasoning.

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">There will be 9 categories this year.

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Fantasy Football, College Pick'em, Pro Pick'em, Survivor Pool, Losers Pool, Bowl Pick'em, College Predictions, Pro Predictions, & Bonus points.

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">The way that each of these categories operates will remain largely the same as years before, but here's the difference. In previous years, you would receive 10 pts for a fantasy win, or 20 pts for a correct prediction, which would go to an overall total of points that would usually end up being between 950-1100 for the winner. This year the winner will likely have between 65 & 75 points total. Here's how it'll work.

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">If you win fantasy football you receive 12 points. If you finish in last place you will receive 1 point. If you finish in 2nd you get 11 points. 8th place would get 5 points.

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">The same goes for every category. So, here's an example score sheet

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Fantasy - 3rd (10 pts)
<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">College pick - 8th (5pts)
<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Pro pick 6th (7 pts)
<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Survivor Pool 10th (3 pts)
<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Bowl pick 'em 12th (1 pt)
<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">College Predictions 1st (12 pts)
<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Pro predictions 9th (4 pts)
<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Bonus points 2nd (11pts)
<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Losers Pool 8th (5 pts)

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Total 58 pts out of a possible 108

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Why am I making this change?

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">There are a couple reasons but mainly, it makes things a lot easier for me. I can look at the scoring and figure out where people stand much more quickly. I can still do point updates, just instead of points going up all year long, points will fluctuate up and down, depending on people's place in the standings.

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">I think this will help people stay in the mix to win for longer, and keep people more engaged.

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">TIE BREAKER

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">If there's a tie it will be broken by looking at the places. If Jim & Joe both have 70 points and Jim has 1 first place and Joe has 0, Jim would win the tiebreaker. If Joe also had 1, we would go to 2nd place finishes. If Jim had 1 2nd & Joe had 2, Joe would win. So on and so forth .

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">PAYMENT

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">The entry to Football God will be $77 this year. Geiss & Colin were always the holdup from us raising the fee. I accept payment through VENMO. As I stated last year, I always hated taking money for the league. This way things are in an escrow account of sorts. I can also take Paypal if that's your only option, but I'd prefer Venmo, so all the money is in the same place. $2 of the prize money from each person will go towards the site hosting our losers pool.

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Eplin, I kept your $60 for coming in 3rd last year, so you only owe $17 for this year.

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">That puts our prize pool at $900 for the year.

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">1st $550
<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">2nd $250
<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">3rd $100

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">We'll probably move the entry to $100 next year and cap it there. Unless anyone has an objection.

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">BOWL PICK'EM

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Because the bowl pick'em has such a limited spectrum of games, we can't just do straight points. We'll end up with the potential to have way too many people tied. Also, since bowl pick'em is now equally weighted to the other areas of Football God, we need to up the skill level. Because of this, <b style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", Trebuchet, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">I'm instituting confidence points in the bowl pick'em this year.

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">I'll explain that more when the time comes to sign up for the bowl pick'em.

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">SURVIVOR POOL

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Survivor pool rules are the same as last year. 2 strikes and you're out. Pick the team most likely to lose their game. Can only choose each team once.

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">LOSERS POOL
<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">We're going to do a weekly losers pool this year too. The way this works is the opposite of the survivor pool. You pick a team each week to lose. You can pick each team once. You get 2 strikes and you're out.

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">COLLEGE & PRO PICK'EM

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">I went back to doing the pro pick'em against the spread. I know some of you don't like it, but with every category being of equal weight, the difficulty needs to be higher.

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">College pick'em is a weekly pick'em against the spread as well.

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">PREDICTIONS

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">You all should have received the Predictions sheet. I uploaded it to the facebook group message. Let me know if you can't open it.
<b style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", Trebuchet, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Bonus points will still exist same as always. But, they're a little different this year.

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">If you win college or pro pick'em in a week you get 1 bonus point.
<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">

<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">If you are the highest scoring team in fantasy football for a week, you get a bonus point.
<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">If you are the highest scoring losing team in fantasy football for a week, you get half a bonus point.
<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Every 4 wins you have in fantasy football you get a bonus point. If you make the playoffs you get a bonus point.
<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">If you make the fantasy playoffs you get a bonus point
<span style="background-color: black; color: #cccccc; font-family: "trebuchet ms" , "trebuchet" , "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">If you win any of the categories you receive 4 bonus points. 2nd gets you 2 bonus points. 3rd gets you 1 bonus points. I'd recommend anyone to check my math here. If nothing else I realized that I make mistakes, while going back through and figuring this all out. But, anyway, let's see where we stand.

The Patriots won the Superbowl for the 300th time. This was also only the 2nd Superbowl that I didn't watch. The other being the 2nd Patriots and Giants game. So, let's move on from this dynasty forever, please.

Kemp managed to predict the Superbowl exactly right. And, after his miserable start with the survivor, losers, and fantasy football, Kemp managed to put together a nice little season in the end. Well done Kemp.

Otherwise, Jim predicted the Rams to lose the Superbowl, and John predicted the Patriots to win. The Chiefs losing the AFC Championship game also scored points for Jim and Eplin. Oddly enough, although lots of people had the Saints in the Superbowl, no one had them losing the NFC Championship game.

With our individual awards and stats, noone had Patrick Maholmes winning MVP (obviously), or Nagy winning coach of the year. But, we had a few come true.

Most people chose Saquon Barkley to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year. Everyone but John.

Joe had Aaron Donald both winning DPOY and leading the league in Sacks. Hale and Eplin also had him for the DPOY & John had him leading the league in sacks.

Folden, Shawn, Munez, Rob, and Eplin all had Andrew Luck winning the Comeback player of the year award.

It was a rough year for some of the predictions this year. So, let's take a look at our final standings in this. Throughout all of this, the number in parenthesis is how many points you got in the standings.

Kemp 38 (12)

Eplin 34 (10.5)

Jim 34 (10.5)

John 32 (9)

Munez 19 (3)

Folden 18 (2)

Gary 15 (1)

Kemp received 5 bonus points, Eplin & Jim each received 2.5. For finishing in the top 3.

Points Associated in final standings. Remember each person received a bonus point for every 5 points in this.

Folden earns 5 bonus points, Munez 3, Rob 2.

With that we come to our end of the season. Along with Bonus Points which finished off like this.

1. Rob 76.5

2. Munez 64.5

3. Adam 64

4. Folden 63.5

10. Shawn 50

11. John 49

12. Gary 40.5

Congratulations to Rob on his first Football God title. Congratulations to Munez on his highest finish yet. I'm attaching the final standings for everyone to review, on facebook. What you'll notice is the consistency. Rob didn't finish lower then a tie for 6th in any category this year. Pretty unreal.

Munez fluctuated wildly, but a couple of 1st and a 2nd insulated him from this. He narrowly pushed away of the 2nd-6th clusterfuck.

I was a bit in between, but I didn't fall below 3 points a tall, and finished with several double digit point finishes.

Folden did really well in many categories, but really poorly in his predictions. That was his big bring down. Joe was pretty consistent all around, but his biggest fault was not finishing higher then 3rd at all in any category. That hurt his bonus points badly, which ended up being the difference.

Hale would have been in 2nd instead of 6th if the Rams had won the Superbowl. That one hurts.

Also Folden and Joe tied for 4th. So how do we resolve that for draft positioning?

The tiebreaker #1 is who had more 1st places in categories. Folden had 1 in pro pick'em, and Joe had none. So, that settles that.

Draft Order for Football God 2019

1. Folden

2. Joe

3. Hale

4. Kemp

5. Eplin

6. Jim

7. Shawn

8. John

9. Gary

10. Adam

11. Munez

12. Rob

Thank you so much for playing fellas. I'll get ahold of Rob & Munez to get you guys your money. Thanks very much for playing.

To give a little background on the history of FBG we've been predicting the College & Pro Championships since the beginning. The reason why those are worth significantly more points then other things is because it's relatively to predict just right. So, in the course of our league, it's been a nice reward to give the people who are able to accurately predict the champion a bit of a leg up for doing so.

This year is not like every other year. Since August everyone knew it was probably going to end up Clemson vs Alabama. Sure, some people picked Georgia to mix it up, and Eplin in explicitly picked Wisconsin, but the likelihood of Clemson vs Alabama was high. Because of that going into the last game of the season we were going to see a huge swing in the points either way.

With most people having one of the forms of Clemson and Alabama, whoever got it right was getting 10 points (in most cases) and the loser was getting nothing. Below were the standings going into the final game.

Gary 27
Munez 26
Kemp 25
Eplin 24
Hale 23
Adam 22
Joe 22
John 19
Jim 19
Rob 18
Folden 18
Voyten 11

This would be the final standings if Alabama had won:

Munez 36
Hale 33
Joe 32
Eplin 30
Kemp 29
Folden 28
Gary 27
John 23
Adam 22
Jim 19
Rob 18
Voyten 11

Here are the final standings with Clemson winning

Gary 37 (7)
Adam 32 (6)
Jim 29 (5)
Munez 26 (5)
Kemp 25 (5)
Eplin 24 (4)
Rob 24 (4)
Hale 23 (4)
Joe 22 (4)
John 19 (3)
Folden 18 (3)
Voyten 11 (2)

Other than the fact that in either case, Shawn is woefully in last place, there are giant swings. Remember this when we get to the standings this week.

With that, Gary gets 5 bonus points, I get 3 bonus points, and Jim gets 2 bonus points. In addition to this I counted up our total prediction points. In the rules, it stated that for every 5 points you score in the predictions you get a bonus point. The bonus points are in parenthesis above.

Bonus Points

Giving an update on where we stand on bonus points: Keep in mind this is with the 1 bonus point per prediction in College pick'em but NOT in the pro pick'em: Obviously, those top 3 bonus's are coming into play more and more.
Bowl Pick'em
Onto our bowl pick'em. It appears nothing changed in the pick'em. Meaning our final winner is Shawn, followed by Kemp, and then Me. The bonus points will go out 5, 3, and 2.

Final ROTO points per person.

Pro Pick'em

There were slight changes in pro pick'em this week. Mainly with Gary jumping up to 4th. This is still really close, with 2 games seperating Gary, Joe, and Shawn for 4th place. Hale and Sahwn tied for 7th. These last few games could make the difference in close standings in the finish.

So, in the next few weeks we'll settle the bonus points category, pro predictions, and pro pick'em.

So let's see what's changed. Our standings last update

1. Rob 78.5

2. Joe 74

3. Hale 72.5

4. Munez 67.5

5. Adam 62

6. Folden 61.5

7. John 57.5

8. Eplin 51.5

9. Shawn 51

10. Kemp 49

11. Jim 39

12. Gary 38.5

Now let's see where everyone would stand if Alabama had won last week.

Joe 72.5
Hale 72.5
Rob 70
Munez 67
Folden 65.5
Adam 60
John 59.5
Eplin 54
Kemp 53.5

Shawn 49.5
Gary 40.5
Jim 39

Finally, let's take a look at where we actually stand, solely becaue Clemson beat Alabama, instead of the other way around.

Rob 78
Joe 67.5
Adam 67
Hale 67
Munez 64
Folden 58.5
John 56.5
Kemp 54.5
Eplin 52
Shawn 49.5
Jim 47
Gary 46.5

Unreal how a few bonus points and a jump in the standings can change everything. Essentially it looks like Rob has it locked up. He'd have to drop 11 points to one of the 3 people below him, and I don't think there's enough variance left for that to happen.

The interesting thing now is between 2nd and 5th. Only half a point seperate 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. With Munez still only a couple of points back. With us all having different Superbowls, it'll probably come down to that game to decide who finishes in the money, and who finishes out.

Let's all be friends here and talk about where we stand going into the final month of the football season.

Fantasy Football

Hale and I's game came down to the Sunday night affair, and he outlasted me to win the Fantasy Championship.

That's 5 bonus points to Hale, 3 to me, and 2 to Rob, who finished in 3rd.

Your final points standings in fantasy look like this:

Hale 12
Adam 11
Rob 10
Joe 9
Shawn 8
Folden 7
Eplin 6
Munez 5
Jim 4
Gary 3
John 2
Kemp 1

Pro Pick'em has changed a lot of over the past few weeks. With only 11 games left in the season, it may be hard to make too much of a move here.

Folden 12
Munez 11
Rob 10
Joe 9
Gary 8
Shawn 7
Jim & Hale 5.5
Adam 4
Kemp 3
Eplin 2
John 1

Folden is probably safe at either 1st or 2nd, with Rob in 3rd 6 games back. Munez could still jump to 1st or possibly fall to 3rd. The place where there's real chances for carnage is between 4th and 8th. Only 4 games separate that bunch.

Bowl Pick'em

With 1 game to play here is where we stand

Shawn 559
Kemp 519
Adam 494
Eplin 480
Rob 477
Folden 432
Hale 422
John 422
Joe 421
Gary 391
Jim 331
Munez 320

The nice thing about ESPN is that it shows you how many points each person has remaining. Rob for instance, at 5th has only 1 point left, so he can't go any higher than 5th place. He also has a 45 point lead over Folden at 6th. So you know he's set there at 5th.

Shawn has a 40 point lead over Kemp at 2nd place, with Kemp having 35 points left. So Shawn will win. Kemp can finish no worse then 3rd, I can finish no worse then 4th. Eplin will finish between 2nd - 4th.

The real juice here is between 6th and 9th. Only 11 points separates the Mclanes, Folden, and Hale. So, who will use there gamesmenship right. Switch to Clemson and hope everyone else picks Bama, or stay with Bama and hope every else switches?

Here's our cooresponding point totals as of now

Shawn 12
Kemp 11
Adam 10
Eplin 9
Rob 8
Folden 7
Hale 6
Joe 4.5
John 4.5
Gary 3
Jim 2
Munez 1

Pro Predictions

I don't really have time to go through all of this. But I'll just post the point totals as of now.
I'll get more into the pro predictions next week.

On another note I had completely forgotten that for College and pro predictions you get a bonus point for every 5 points you score. So our bonus points are updated with that in mind.

Here is where we are at in bonus points now.

Lastly, Rob ended up winning the losers pool. He didn't lose a game all year. Well done by him and John taking it down to week 17.

So obviously there's a few bottle necks that can still clear up. In the meantime, here are your overall total scores as of 1/4/19

1. Rob 78.5

2. Joe 74

3. Hale 72.5

4. Munez 67.5

5. Adam 62

6. Folden 61.5

7. John 57.5

8. Eplin 51.5

9. Shawn 51

10. Kemp 49

11. Jim 39

12. Gary 38.5

So, the addition of a couple of categories really mixed things up. Hale jumped from 5th to 3rd. Munez fell from 1st to 4th. Folden from 3rd to 6th. Will be interesting to see how things play out. Points will fluctuate again on Tueday after the College football season ends. Update it then.

Merry Christmas to you all this coming week. I hope you enjoy seeing me slide down your chimneys to greet you in the middle of the night. On with the Updates!

There are lots of updates to go through, so let's start from the top.

Fantasy Football

Since our last update, Joe beat Shawn followed by Rob beating Folden.

This put some heated matchups in the semifinals. Rob & Joe's teams unfortunately didn't arrive on the big stage, and they are left to sort out 3rd place in the consolation game and 1 bonus point.

Shawn beat Folden for 5th place.

This leaves Hale & I on the collision course we've been on all year in the finals. It's a heavyweight for sure, with our teams projected to put up a combined 280 points.

Pro Pick'em

With two weeks to play we've got some tight finishes happening here.

Munez's lead is down to 1 game over Folden after he had a rough week last week. Rob is in striking distance 4 games back. Gary is at 106, followed by a log jam between Me, Joe, Shawn, and Jim all within 2 points of one another.

There's a lot of variance in this still, which could make a very big impact on the final scores, and there are only 32 games left to decide it.

Losers Pool

We have finally decided the consolation bracket in the losers pool. Hale outlasted Shawn & Folden, meaning Hale maxed out at 8 points. Shawn & Folden will each end up with 6.5.

Rob & John are the only two left going for anything. Rob hasn't lost yet and John has one loss. If Rob finishes undefeated he obviously will finish in first. John will need to win out and hope Rob loses one for a tie.

Survivor Pool

On the Survivor side of things, Hale got knocked out, picking the Jags to beat the Redskins, which unbelievably didn't happen. Hale earns 8 points in that as well.

This leaves Folden, Joe, and Eplin fighting it out over the final 3 spots.

Bowl Pick'em

It's early here, too early to really do an update with only a handful of games played. But, I noticed some people didn't change their confidence points for any games this weekend. You guys know what that means right? If you don't understand confidence points, please let me know.

Pro Predictions

I'll go through these in depth either next week or the week after.

Bonus Points

Rob, Gary, & Kemp each earned the half point bonus for this week in pro pick'em.

Jim earned it the week before.

Rob will earn the 1 point bonus for making thru another 4 weeks in losers pool next week. That's a guarantee. John can still earn it too next week.

We also get a bonus point for every 5 points in the predictions. The way it stands at this moment is as follows for college predictions

Munez 5
Adam 5
Gary 5
Kemp 5
Hale 4
Eplin 4
Joe 4
Jim 4
Rob 3
John 3
Folden 3
Shawn 2

Making our totals for Bonus points as follows:

Munez 21
Hale 13
Folden 12.5
Joe 12.5
John 12
Rob 11
Kemp 10.5
Adam 10
Jim 10
Gary 9
Eplin 8
Shawn 5

If you want to look at the attachment i put in fantasy football, you can see where we stand in each of the categories. Anything highlighted in green, means a point value that's set in stone. Anything clear, is still a variable.

1. Munez 64.5
2. Rob 62
3. Joe 60
4. Folden 57
5. Hale 53.5
6. Adam 46
7. Eplin 37.5
8. John 37
9. Gary 34
10. Shawn 33
11 Jim 30
12. Kemp 27

Compared to last week a few thins have happened. Munez's lead overall has shrank from 3.5 points to 2.5 points. Rob is now in sole possession of 2nd, making the fantasy game this weekend even more important. Joe is 4.5 points off of the lead. Folden is 7.5 points back and was 7. Hale gained a point and a half, moving up to 11.5 points out instead of 12.5.

I fell back pretty bad, falling from 15 points back to 18.5. I'd say I have a comfortable grasp on 6th place right now, noone within 7.5 points of me either way.

Eplin held steady, letting John fall back 4 points to fall to 8th. Eplin in 7th. Gary jumped a couple of points from 31.5 to 34 to get to 9th. Shawn from 31 to 33 in 10th. Jim from 31.5 to 30 in 11th. Finally, Kemp rounding out the bottom with 27 points.

Make your move in pro pick'em and bowl pick'em. Let's check in next week or the week after. Ho Ho Ho. Adam "Don" Johnsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14381477187500924038noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2107462492393955429.post-64270760851625314972018-12-06T05:57:00.002-08:002018-12-06T05:57:34.451-08:00Update CityHey guys, I'm going to jump right into it. Lots to cover.

Survivor Pool & Losers Pool

There was only one loss this weekend with Joe finishing in 3rd by choosing the Giants to lose. Folden, Hale, Shawn, and Jim still fight it out for 5th-8th place points and Rob & John still have no losses on the year.

In Survivor Pool Me, Hale, Joe, Eplin, & Folden are still fighting it out for 2nd-6th.

Pro Predictions

The first divisional pro prediction of the year has come in with the Rams winning the NFC West. The Saints aren't far behind, neither are the Pats. Lots more to come in that arena

Fantasy Football

The playoffs are set. As it turned out, neither Munez nor Eplin won their game, so there wasn't a whole of changes. Rob did jump from 6th to 4th, Folden & Shawn each falling one game.

Here is the field:

1. Adam
Bye

4. Rob
5. Folden

3. Joe
6. Shawn

2. Hale
Bye

In other news, in the first time in like 35 fantasy leagues I've ever played in, Kemp went 0-13. Congrats on that I guess.

The point totals for the final standings for the bottom 6 are:

6. Eplin
5. Munez
4. Jim
3. Gary
2. John
1. Kemp

The rest of the point total's will vary based off of playoff results. Hale & I are guaranteed to finish top 4.

College Pick'em

So, now this is done. Season over. Well done to Munez, for winning this with a record of 142-112.

Here are the points associated with this.

12 Munez
11 John
10 Folden
9 Kemp
8 Eplin
7 Joe
5.5 Gary
5.5 Rob
4 Shawn
3 Adam
2 Jim
1 Hale

With that, Munez earns 5 bonus points, John 3, and Folden 2.

Additionally, Rob, Munez, Folden, and Shawn earned a bonus point for the most predictions in combined pick'em this weekend.

College Predictions

With only awards season & the final 4 to play out, we have our initial results in for the College Predictions. I'll go over them in detail where they need detail and gloss over what doesn't.

Final Four

This one's pretty simple. Everyone but Eplin & John got 4 points for having Georgia and Alabama. Noone had Oklahoma or Notre Dame. Eplin didn't have Clemson & John didn't have Alabama.

The ACC was similar. Everyone had Clemson but Eplin
SEC - Shawn, Rob, Kemp, John had Georgia, everyone else had Alabama for the points.
PAC 12 - Everyone but Jim, Folden, & Kemp had Washington
Big 10 - Only Munez & I had Ohio State winning the Big 10.
Big 12 - Only Munez, Kemp, & Hale had Oklahoma winning the Big 12.
AAC - Everyone but me, Folden, and Shawn had UCF winning.
Conf USA - Lane went ahead and Kiffined on us. We all had FAU & they sucked balls.
MAC - Eplin & Kemp were the only two who took NIU to win the Mac.
MWC - Fresno upset Boise to win the MWC, noone had them.
Sun Belt - App st won, which was picked by Gary, Kemp, John.

Losers of the Conferences

ACC- Obviously, noone predicted Pitt.
SEC - Georgia was correct by everyone but Shawn, Rob, Kemp &, John.
Pac 12 - Utah was picked by Jim, Rob, & Munez
Big 10 - Obviously noone had Northwestern
Big 12 - Texas picked by Hale, Kemp, & Munez
AAU - Memphis was picked by Rob, Munez, Eplin, & Kemp
Conf USA - nada
MAC - Buffalo was picked by Hale
MWC - Noone had Boise
Sunbelt - Louisiana Lafayette was picked as a loser by Jim

Top 10 to fall out of the top 25 was picked correctly by:
Adam - Wisconsin
Folden, Joe, Rob, Gary, Eplin, & Kemp - Auburn

Highest unranked teams in top 25.

These two ended up being Florida & Washington St. Noone had Wash St, but Florida was chosen by:
Adam, Shawn, Joe, Munez, Gary, and Hale.

This puts our current point totals as below. In parenthesis. Depending on how awards go, this could change before we get to the championship games.

Munez 26
Gary 24
Hale 23
Joe 22
Adam 22
Kemp 19
Eplin 18
Rob 18
Jim 16
Folden 15
John 13
Voyten 11
Munez is either leading or has won 4 categories this year. Unreal. I likely won't do a point update next week, so don't get the lube out too fast for this one. There probably won't be enough changes next week to warrant one. I'll update fantasy & the pools, as well as pro pick'em next week though.
And, I'll tell you this guys. We did pretty shitty. Taking anything Alabama or Clemson out of the mix, and we did below average at best. I"m attaching the spreadsheet to the the facebook page for you guys to be able to compare.

Amazingly, Munez still has a chance to get all 4 of the final four correct. He's the only person who can boast that at this point. John, Kemp, Gary, Rob, and Voyten all have the ability to get 3 but they all have Georgia and Alabama.

Conference champions are similar. Munez & Kemp have the lead with the ability to get 7 of the 10 conferences correct. Gary, Shawn, Me, John, & Hale have 6 possibles. Everyone else has 5 or 4.

The only predictions we can say safely at the moment are the Top 10 team to fall out of the Top 25 prediction. Those of us that said Miami, Auburn, or Wisconsin are safe. That's me, Folden, Rob, Joe, Gary, Eplin, & Kemp.

The Coaches that will get fired are pretty much settled as well.

Shawn & I said Lovie Smith, who got an extension, so that ain't happening.

David Beatty, Larry Fedora, DJ Durkin, have gotten everyone else points. I'm still waiting on a decision to be made about Bob Davie in New Mexico for Kemp.

The finalists for the awards have been released too, but we'll go over those next week.

The Pro Predictions are starting to formulate, but I'll go over those next week too, once we're at the 3/4 point in the season.

College Pick'em is down to the last week of the season. There are 8 games to choose from, and the separation at the top is only 1 game. Munez sits at 137, with John at 136. Folden has an outside chance at 134. Probably a better chance for 2nd. Those 3 will finish top 3, with Eplin 4 back of Folden. The rest of us need to jockey for position for the final standings on this one.

Pro Pick'em is tight as well. Three games seperate 2nd thru 6th, with Munez sitting in first by a few games.

No changes in the losers or survivor pools last week. Only a few weeks to go.

Bonus Points

I had the highest score in fantasy earning a bonus point, while Joe was the highest scoring losing team, earning 0.5 bonus points.
Jim & John earned the bonus points for the pick'em last week. Joe, Rob, & John also earned a bonus point for making it 4 more weeks alive in the losers pool.

So, this may be confusing, but I'll type out the bonus points up to this point, and also attach the spreadsheet.

After next week I'll be able to mock up our standings overall for the first time, this will be a category inside of this.

This is our final week of the regular season of fantasy football. And, this shit is full of drama.

Joe put up 160 points and lost, and the things that happened below him were enough to lower his playoff chances.

Folden beat Munez in a tight game that now has him in the playoff picture and Munez outside.

Eplin lost a tight one to Hale knocking him out of the picture.

Rob won his 3rd in a row getting back into the playoffs.

Shawn won on a 97 yard TD run by Lamar Miller on Monday night that not only saved his season, but kept Kemp on skid row at an unreal 0-12.

Here's our final week scenario.

First round byes locked in

Adam 10-2
Hale 9-3

It's pretty amazing at this point in the year that Hale and I are seperated by only 5 points. We both have 200 points more then the next closest team to us. Pretty dominant so far by both of our teams.

3. Joe 7-5
4. Folden 7-5
5. Shawn 7-5
6. Rob 7-5
7. Eplin 6-6
8. Munez 6-6

Joe vs Gary
Folden vs Adam
Shawn vs Hale
Rob vs Kemp
Eplin vs John
Munez vs Jim

It's pretty unreal that none of the 6 of you play each other. So, scenarios.

Obviously if 3-6 win they are all in. Or any of them win they are in.

If Joe and/or Folden lose and Eplin wins then the point tiebreaker will come into play. 65 points separates the 3 of them. Eplin passing one of those two is the only way those 2 don't end up in the playoffs.

Shawn & Rob are in a more dangerous situation, as Munez can pass them as well.

If Rob and/or Shawn lose, and Eplin wins, he's in. He has the tie breaker. If Munez wins there are 30 points seperating Munez, Shawn, and Rob.

So, Eplin's hoping for 1 of 4 teams to lose, and for him to win. Munez is hoping for 1 of 2 teams to lose and win his game.

Gary, Jim, and John are still playing for 9th -11th. Kemp clinched dead last many weeks ago. I actually will give you guys an overall point update. Just so you can see how volatile it is.

<col style="mso-width-alt: 3803; mso-width-source: userset; width: 78pt;" width="104"></col>
<col style="mso-width-alt: 4132; mso-width-source: userset; width: 85pt;" width="113"></col>
<col span="2" style="mso-width-alt: 3510; mso-width-source: userset; width: 72pt;" width="96"></col>
<col style="mso-width-alt: 3730; mso-width-source: userset; width: 77pt;" width="102"></col>
<col span="2" style="width: 48pt;" width="64"></col>
</colgroup>

At this point read the point link in the facebook post.

3

32

Obviously most of those numbers can change. I have 12 for being in first in fantasy but that could go down to 9. Joe, who has 10 points in fantasy could go down as far as 6 by next week.

The pools that are still going on, I took the median number of what the person's high and low was. So for instance, Joe, John, and Rob's range in the losers pool is 12-10, so I gave them each 11 for this projection.

These scores also don't include college predictions, pro predictions and the bowl games.

But now you get a sense of how the scoring works. Where all previous years was an accumulation of points, this is an evolution of points that can change as we go. The only points set in stone here so far are about half of the losers pool and survivors pools. And of course Kemp being in dead last in fantasy football.

See you next week.
Let's start with the survivor/ghoul pool.

Some dominoes did fall this weekend, but from only one game. Denver's come from behind victory over the chargers knocked me and Munez out of the losers pool. Munez is guarenteed 4th place. I get 9th place. Rob & John still haven't lost a game yet, and Joe is now guarenteed at least 3rd. Here's how the points stand.

12-10 Rob, John, Joe
9 Munez
8-5 Folden, Hale, Jim, Shawn,
4 Adam
3 Eplin
2 Gary
1 Kemp

Survivor claimed a couple of people as well. Jim & Shawn had the Chargers.

The points in this now stand as follows.

Rob 12
11-7 Adam, Joe, Hale, Eplin, Folden
5.5 - Jim & Shawn
4 Shawn
2.5 Kemp & Munez
1 Gary

In fantasy football we have 2 weeks left in the season. Here's where things stand

1. Adam 9-2 (clinched playoff spot) The only person that can stop me from a bye is Joe, and I'd have to lose out and Joe would need to jump the 182 point difference from us. 98% likely I have a bye.

2. Hale 8-3 (unofficially clinched playoff spot) Hale's in. I can't see an avenue in which he loses. He is now 1 win away from clinching the other bye. Would need to lose out and have Joe win out to lose out on it.

3. Joe 7-4 (90% chance in playoffs) Joe has a 1 game lead on everyone and the point tiebreaker on everyone but Eplin. Even if he loses out, he'd be tied for 6th.

Here's where things get wild. 4th-8th are all tied at 6-5 with two games to play. So we'll go over those after we cover the bottom 4 teams.

9-11th Jim, John, Gary. They are effectively playing for who can have the most points in the final standings. 9th gets 4, where 11th only gets 2.

12th Kemp. 0-11. Time to see if he gets a win in his final 2 games.

Back to the teams that are 4th - 8th. Where do they each stand? along with their remaining schedule

4. Eplin - 1443 points (Hale, John)
5. Folden 1381 points (Munez, Adam)
6. Munez 1296 points (Folden, Jim)
7. Shawn 1266 points (Kemp, Hale)
8. Rob 1264 points (Jim, Kemp)

Folden & Eplin are in the best shape, having scored as many points as they have. Truth be told, Munez & Folden are playing in a likely elimination game this weekend. Let's project.

If Eplin loses to Hale, he'll fall to 6-6. One of Folden or Munez will be 6-6. One will be 7-5. Shawn & Rob each winning would keep all 5 people still in the mix for next week. Amazingly, none of the 5 play each other in the last week of the season. There's no way as of now to figure out a likely path for how things will go. We could end up with 4 6-6 teams or 4 7-5 teams next week. Some people need to route for Hale to win, some need to route for Jim. It's pretty much insanity.

If you had to put a gun to my head, based on schedule, and the way things have gone, I'd have Eplin, Munez, and Rob getting the 3 spots. But, who the hell knows.

That's it for now.

Adam "Don" Johnsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14381477187500924038noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2107462492393955429.post-18849393548602598842018-11-13T06:25:00.000-08:002018-11-13T06:25:16.268-08:0011-13-18 UpdateTis the season where the updates nearly come weekly. Let's get into what changed from last week and see where we go.

SURVIVOR POOL

Not much changed this week. Losers pool everyone was victorious and the survivor pool had a blip on the radar. Shawn chose the Falcons, which turned out not to be a very good pick, as the Browns decimated them.

So, we still have Rob & John without a loss on the year, Joe & Munez with one loss fighting for the top spot.

After that we have 5 people fighting for 5th place.

Survivor Pool is still a race for 2nd place. 7 people remain. Hale, Folden, Eplin, and Joe are without a strike. Me, Jim, and Shawn have one strike.

PREDICTION

I'm predicting a real blood bath this week. The other shoe has to drop at some point and it feels like this is going to be the week where we see some people lose.

PICK'EMS

Quick updates on these, the pick'em bonus was a tie between Eplin, Joe, Folden, and Munez this week with 19 picks a piece.

In other news, Wisconsin has now been eliminated from the Big 10. A lot of people chose them to go far this year, so this has to be the biggest disappointment amongst all the picks so far.

FANTASY FOOTBALL

As I do down the stretch in fantasy season, I want to take the time go through the standings and each person's updated playoff chances.

John beat Kemp, keeping his team's chances alive.

Eplin beat Jim, eliminating Jim from postseasons chances and helping his own.

Hale scored more than double what Gary did, putting him on the ropes. Hale earned the full point bonus for most points scored.

I needed a 100 yard, 2 td performance from Matthew Breida on Monday night to eek out a win again Munez. (Munez got the 1/2 point losers bonus)

Rob beat Joe to close in on him and some others in the playoffs.

Folden beat Shawn, delivering Shawn his 4th loss in 5 games.

Standings.

1. Adam 8-2
2. Hale 7-3
3. Joe 6-4
4. Folden 6-4
5. Munez 6-4
6. Shawn 6-4
7. Eplin 5-5
8. Rob 5-5
9. Gary 4-6
10. John 4-6
11. Jim 3-7
12. Kemp 0-10

In a side note I don't think we've ever had a team go winless in Football God's fantasy league.

Playoff chances.

Sure thing 99.9%
Adam - I don't think there's a way I can't make the playoffs now, unless if I scored 50 a game, lost out, and a bunch of things went against me. I'm 2 games up (with tiebreakers) on the BYE. I'll be playing for that position and guarenteed top 4.

Damn Near sure thing

Hale 97% - Hale would need to lose out at this point, and even that may not be enough to keep him out, as he has the tiebreaker over everyone. He's 2 games up on the playoffs, and will lock things up for sure with a win this week.

Muddled chances.
Joe & Folden 65%
Shawn & Munez 53%

The difference between the top 2 and bottom 2 here is the points scored. Eplin is one game back of both of them, and would jump them in the event of a tie. Joe & Folden are too close in points to Eplin to say who would win the tiebreaker at this point.

Eplin 45%
I think everything that needed said about Eplin's chances were said in the paragraph above.

Rob 33%
Rob's chances improved with a win. It also helped him that Gary lost, who he jumped, and that 3 of the 6-3 teams lost. He's still a game back, and even if he ended up in a tie for 6th this week, he'd be losing the tiebreaker. Rob's going to win out most likely to make the playoffs.

Gary & John 5%
Gary has a little bit of an edge over John, because of his points scored. Winning out and hoping for a lot of things to fall their way is the only chances.

Jim & Kemp 0%

Week 11 Schedule

Eplin 5-5 vs Kemp 0-10
Jim 3-7 vs Shawn 6-4
Rob 5-5 vs Folden 6-4
Adam 8-2 vs Gary 4-6
Joe 6-4 vs Munez 6-4
Hale 7-3 vs John 4-6

If Rob and Jim win, we'll see some big percentage changes next week. Let's see how it plays out.

Adam "Don" Johnsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14381477187500924038noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2107462492393955429.post-12017429485274922232018-11-06T06:05:00.001-08:002018-11-06T06:05:59.992-08:0011-6-18 UpdateHey fellas,

A few updates to go through. I'll start with our first correct predictions of the year coming to fruition in the past couple of weeks.

Hue Jackson of the Cleveland Browns & David Beatty of Kansas both lost their jobs, back on the chain gang again.

Beatty was a popular choice, chosen by Jim, Folden, Joe, Rob, Munez, Gary, and Eplin.

Jackson, who had won 1 game in 2 seasons as a coach, was a surprisingly scarcer choice. He was only chosen by Me, Shawn, Joe, and Rob.

That said, let's move on with our lives. We are now through week 9 in the NFL so past the halfway point, but not at a point where we can really go through any picks yet. In College though we can talk about what people predicted that's not going to happen.

The only team that's been marked out for the National Championship is Eplin's pick of Wisconsin. other than that the rest of us are alive.

Otherwise, in the final 4, those of us that chose the following teams are eliminated.

Washington - adam, voyten, joe, rob, john, and hale
Wisconsin - Gary, Eplin, Kemp, John, Hale, Joe, Jim
Stanford - Jim & Folden
Michigan St - Folden

In other news, we all picked FAU to win Conference USA and they suck balls. So, no harm no foul. A few of us picked Memphis to win the AAC, and they suck as well.

Rob's pick of Penn St is done, as is Voyten & Folden's Michigan St Big 10 pick. Everyone else's Wisconsin pick should be done, if not for them playing in a subpar division.

In other news, Munez is the only person with all 4 of his teams still in playoff contention with Bama, Ohio St, Georgia, and Clemson. Ohio St and Georgia are 1 loss away from irrelevancy though.

The next two weeks will obviously shape everything up much clearer.

SURVIVOR/LOSERS POOL

Unbelieveably, we had our first loss in the losers pool in 4 weeks. It took until last night's game but Dallas blew it against Tennessee, knocking Eplin out. As of now the only things we know for sure is that Rob, John, Joe, & Munez are fighting for the top 4 spots. Kemp was in last, Gary 11th, and Eplin 10th.

This makes Me, Folden, Hale, Shawn, and Jim still fighting it out for 5th-9th place. Kudos by the way to Joe taking Green Bay last week against the Rams. I know the Rams were undefeated and the Packers sort of suck, but man what a ballsy pick.

Survivor Pool also gave us another loss last night, with John getting his second strike off of the Cowboys, after his ballsy pick in week 7 of No Pick Made

All we know about Survivor is Rob is in 1st, John 9th, Munez & Hale tied for 10th, and Gary 12th.

That leaves 7 of us fighting it out for 2nd-8th, with me and Jim as the only ones with 1 strike so far.

College Pick'em

In college pick'em Munez holds onto a slim lead with 104. Kemp is at 103 right behind him. Folden and John are only 3 back. Very tight at the moment.

Gary & Eplin are 5 back, Joe 6 back, and Rob 8 back. After taht there's a big drop off to us losers at the bottom.

There are only 4 weeks left, so make sure you make your move.

Pro Pick'em

A disaster week of picking knocked me down to 3rd from 1st, and put Rob at 1 and Munez at 2. Folden, Joe, Gary, and Shawn are all within 5 of first as well.

While we're at it, the bonus point for Week 9 of college and Week 8 of pros went to Hale with 18 correct predictions.

Week 10 of college & week 9 of pros went to Folden & Gary with 20.

Fantasy Football

On fantasy the first thing I want to go over is the bonus points.

In week 8 Gary earned his 1 point bonus for 4 wins, which Eplin did as well in Week 9. Hale had the most points scored in week 8, with Shawn having the most points for a losing team. Hale gets 1 bonus point, Shawn with 0.5

Week 9 had Jim scoring the most points with Kemp getting the half bonus point.

Standings

Adam 7-2
Hale 6-3
Joe 6-3
Shawn 6-3
Munez 6-3
Folden 5-4
Eplin 4-5
Gary 4-5
Rob 4-5
Jim 3-6
John 3-6
Kemp 0-9

Hale & I sit 1 and 2, having the most points scored in the league. The fall off after that is about 150 points to the next highest scoring team, which is oddly enough Jim who is in 10th place.

Let's go through playoff probabilities

Near Certain
Adam 7-2 95%
With a 3 game lead on the playoffs, and tie breakers in most places, i really need just one more victory to lock up a spot out of my last 4.

Close to Near Certain 85%
Joe & Hale 6-3
Hale & Joe are both 2 games up on the playoffs and would have the tie breakers based off of their points against most other teams. 2 wins is a shoe in, but 1 more win could be enough to get them in.

Solid Chances 75%
Shawn 6-3
Munez 6-3

Three weeks ago, Shawn was 5-0 and looked like a lock for the playoffs. While he's still in good shape with a 2 game lead, he could really benefit from not having a 4th loss out of 5.
Munez on the other hand has won 2 in a row after hitting 4-3 a couple of weeks ago. He's not doing himself favors in the tiebreakers, and sits in a near identical situation to Shawn

On Thin Ice 60%
Folden 5-4

Folden has lost 2 games in a row as well, and holds a 1 game lead over the 3 teams behind him. One week could put a big gap between him and the competition, but it's still a little early to say. Folden would benefit from the tiebreaker over Gary & Rob, but not Eplin up to now.

Fringe 40-45%
Eplin 4-5
Gary 4-5
Rob 4-5

It's a little less than a coin flip to me that one of these 3 will make the playoffs. The best they can do now is just win hope a couple teams in front of them hit the skids.

Last Chance 15%
Jim 3-6

Jim is 3rd and points and 10th in the standings. An unfortunate occurance that has effected most of us at one time or another. Jim's one big leg up is that he has scored a shit load of points. He won last week and will need to finish the season on a 5 game losing streak to get in. He'd also need a little help

Probably Done 5%
John 3-6

John has the same record as Jim, but his point total for the tiebreaker is dead last. He'll need to win out and get a lot of help to be solely in 6th place.

Def Done -125%

Kemp 0-9

Fournette gain you a win?

Week 10 Schedule

This is the week that's going to set things apart

Adam 7-2 vs Munez 6-3
Shawn 6-3 vs Folden 5-4

If you're trying to jump people into a playoff spot this may be the week you route for me and Shawn. A loss for Folden will bring him back to the pack, opening up the 6th playoff spot. A loss by Munez and wins by others puts that 5th spot back into play too.

Joe 6-3 vs Rob 4-5
Hale 6-3 vs Gary 4-5

These aren't elimination games, but they're close to it. Wins by Rob & Gary, Shawn and Me, would bring the pack up to the people in the playoffs. This would result in 3rd through 8th being only a game apart. The other way around and we can start penciling in playoff spots.

John 3-6 vs Kemp 0-9

Not a lot of excitement here but John's staying alive.

Jim 3-6 vs Eplin 4-5
This game will pretty much position Eplin or Jim going forward. With a win Jim could jump as high as 7th place. With a win he's likely done. With a win, Eplin could find himself in the playoff picture by the end of the week. Lots of implications.

Next week I'll be doing a short update to update fantasy & survivor/losers pool. Until then, have a nice week.

Time to fill you guys in on the rancid comings & goings of the football season. Let's start with the Losers & Surivivor Pool.

Survivor Pool:

There have been a few developments since Rob won the Survivor pool in week 3 & Gary lost the Survivor pool in week 2.

Munez & Kemp are now elminated, having ate a big bowl of shit served to them by Brock Osweiler & the Dolphins in week 6.

I ate that same bowl of shit, but that was only my first strike. Jim has also gotten a first strike, picking Tennessee in week 5. John has one strike too, having made the interesting decision to chose noone in week 7.

That puts Kemp & Munez tied for 10th, which would give them 2.5 points each toward their overall score. Here how the Survivor Pool looks right now, by points.

Rob 12

Everyone else ?

Kemp 2.5
Munez 2.5
Gary 1

I've extended the Survivor Pool season through the playoffs.

Losers Pool

After 7 weeks, John & Rob are still sitting without a loss. They've both used nearly the same teams up to this point, with Rob having used Oakland & John using Seattle. When looking down the list of teams used throughout all of us, most of have used the bad teams up to this point.

This means that we should start to see some heads rolling in the next couple of weeks.

Standings in the losers pool based off of points

Rob, John, Joe, Munez 12-9 (however they finish)

Everyone else 8-3

Gary 2
Kemp 1

rest to be determined.

Pro Pick'em

In the final stages of Rob's dominance we'll move onto the Pro Pick'em

After 7 weeks Rob is holding a slim lead for first place. He's holding out with 53 with me right behind him at 52. Munez in 3rd at 51.

After that there's a slight drop to Shawn, Gary, Hale, and Folden, until we get down to the bottom where Eplin is hanging tight at 37.

Lots of season left to go, but for those back by double digit's maybe time to hunker down and start making some better picks.

College Pick 'em

The College Pick'em is still ruled by Kemp as it has been all year. Kemp has a 2 game lead over Munez, before it opens up a little.

There are 6 points seperating the McLanes & Kemp, and Folden & Gary are right below them.

Only 5 games seperate 3rd thru 9th though, so there's going to be lots of movement.

Fantasy Football

Seven games into the season and it's a little wild this year. Here are your standings.

Shawn 6-1
Adam 5-2
Joe 5-2
Folden 5-2
Hale 4-3
Munez 4-3
Rob 4-3
Gary 3-4
Jim 2-5
Eplin 2-5
John 2-5

A few notes.

1. Shawn is in 1st place in the league despite being 7th in pts scored. This is because he has had 50 less points scored against him all year then any other team.

2. Hale is 4-3 despite scoring 70 more points then anyone else in the league.

3. Folden has the league's longest winning streak at 4 games.

4. Jim is 2-5 after starting 0-5, and scoring the 5th most points in teh league this year.

There's a 4-3 team in Rob who is currently out of the playoffs. Gary is one game out of the playoffs at this point, which isn't bad considering he's been starting 2 Redskins rb's most games this season.

After that there is a drop off to three 2-5 teams, meaning that with 6 games to play, there isn't a ton of room for these teams to mess up before they are out of the playoff hunt.

Kemp is pretty much done at 0-7. Will just want to jockey for position for points at this point.

This is our week 8 schedule and the potential fall out.

Joe 5-2 vs Eplin 2-5
Folden 5-2 vs John 2-5
Hale 4-3 vs Jim 2-5

These three games have similar story lines. The 2-5 teams are trying to gain some ground. They each need to it against pretty strong teams. If all 3 of the 2-5 teams were to win, then we'd have a much more interesting 2nd half of the season.

Gary 3-4 vs Kemp 0-7

This one is Kemp playing spoiler. Gary could potentially go 4-4 without Leveon Bell playing a down, and Rob Gronkowski having a pretty lackluster season. Not bad when those are his top 2 draft picks.

Shawn 6-1 vs Adam 5-2
This game pretty much will decide who is in 1st place come next week. With a win, Shawn puts himself as a near certainty for the playoffs. With a win, I would go to 6-2, and Shawn could drop down as far as 4th. Shawn's only in any real danger if he were to lose 3 in a row. His points for aren't going to win him any tiebreakers at this point.

Rob 4-3 vs Munez 4-3
This game is interesting, because the loser will fall to 4-4 in 7th place. If Gary wins, and if any of the 2-5 teams win, that will make one more team closer to the out of the playoff teams to jump.

Bonus Points

So, here's a key on bonus points that have been won this season so far.
1 point for highest point total weekly in fantasy
0.5 point for highest losing score
1 point for winning the combined pro and college pick'em
1 point for having 4 fantasy wins.
1 point for surviving losers pool

Here what each person has.

You can discern the order that each person is in from that.

So, what does this really mean. I mean really? Not a whole lot of information is out yet. And, as opposed to most years, where we have a rolling point total and everything gets turned upside down in November, in this case we're just sort of watching and waiting.

I'd love to go into detail about how each person has gotten their point total so I'm out of time for now at work. I have it on a spread sheet, let me know if you want to see it.

I'll try to get another one in two weeks. Talk college football for the stretch run.
I figured I owed you guys an update. We're a month in and things are in full swing. But, first off John & Jim, you guys still owe on dues. Let's get the money in please. Venmo whenever able. Folden, you are pending on when I see it hit my account.

SURVIVOR POOL

Let's start here I guess. 2 things have been decided. #1 Rob has won the damn thing and got his 12 points. Gary lost the damn thing and has his 1 point.

The rest of us are in a heated double elimination survivor pool for 2nd place.

The Losers Pool has a little more variance to it. Kemp has finished in last and has his 1 point. Rob, Joe, John, & Munez are left in the losers pool proper playing for the 1st -4th.

Other than that, it's the other 7 of us playing for 5th-11th place.

Pro Pick'em

Rob's name is at the top of this list too. He has 32 correct predictions after 4 weeks.
Kemp is just about running away with this one so far. Given one shitty week could let the pack catch up, but his pace has been steady so far.

What's even more impressive is that he has finished at least tied for the best score of the week every fucking time except the most recent week. He dropped all the way to 3rd.

FANTASY FOOTBALL

Fantasy football has some striking differences. I know it's horn tooting but I have to. After four weeks my team is undefeated and has outscored the next closest team by 123 points. That's massive. John is 0-4 and I've outscored his team, if you double his overall points by 25.

I'm cumming in my pants every week watching those little boys run around the field.

Otherwise, 230 points scored less than me, nearly 60 a week, is Shawn who is also undefeated.

A trio of teams at 3-1, Joe, Rob, and Munez.

Munez & I are usually around 1-3 at this point in the season, so it's a nice change of pace for us here.

At 2-2 are Hale, Folden & Gary.

Eplin is at 1-3

Jim, Kemp, and John are all 0-4.

Jim's in the unlucky position of having his average score against per week be 161 points. Holy shit. How do you stand a chance like that? His team hasn't been wonderful, but they are the 6th highest scoring team in the league.

Kemp is 0-4, in part because he drafted Aaron Rodgers in the first 2 or 3 rounds of the draft, and for some ungodly reason he keeps playing Eli Manning. That would be like the Patriots starting Brian Hoyer because they liked his upside over Tom Brady. Play your studs you dud.

In last place is John's pathetic piece of shit team. Stop playing O.J Howard. He's hurt. Eric Ebron has a touchdown like every game. Get the fucking point.

Bonus Points

So Bonus points being their own category this year. We've already given a lot out. I'll go through what's been earned.

Week 1 College Pick'em bonus (half point since no pro pick'em)

Joe, Gary, Kemp, Munez

Week 2 Folden had the pick'em bonus

Hale had the most points in fantasy for 1

Eplin had the most points on a losing team for 0.5 points

Week 3

Munez, John, Kemp, Gary, and Joe all tied for the pick'em bonus getting a point each.

Munez also had the highest scoring fantasy team for 1

Jim had the most points for a losing team for 0.5 points

Week 4 Rob had the pick'em bonus for 1 point

I had the most points in the league 195! 8===D (): for one point

Jim had the most for a losing team for 0.5 points

Week 5.

Kemp had the pick'em bonus tied with Folden for a point each.

Folden also had the fantasy football point bonus.

3 weeks in a row, that sorry sack of shit Jim had the highest points for a losing team for half a point.
Shawn and I also earned the bonus point for 4 wins in fantasy football.

No Point updates today. No point as of yet. Keep plugging away though. The difference between say 7th and 11th in any category is much bigger this year than last year.

I'm a day late and a dollar short and the two birds have already opened the season up. So, let's start with our Superbowl Predictions.

Although, they won the Superbowl last year, only Munez had the faith in the Eagles to bring them back into the big game. Almost unbelievably, only three people put the Patriots into the Superbowl, even though they've been there so often.

Oddly, the two teams to draw up the most Superbowl support this year were the Saints and the Steelers. Both teams had four picks to be the Superbowl champs.

The Patriots garnered support from two people, while the outliers were the Rams getting chosen by Hale, and the 0-1 Falcons being chosen by Shawn.

The Steelers and Saints also gathered two people apiece to chose them as the Superbowl loser, outdone only by the mother fucking San Diego Chargers with three. Seriously, when I chose the Saints over the Chargers for the Superbowl I figured I'd be looking like a fool, not choosing the exact same thing as Folden. And having the largest percentage of winner and loser in the game. What in the hell?

Jim & Hale both chose the Rams to lose the SB, Eplin with the Pats, and John with the Vikings.

Things are quite a bit different then in previous years, which probably means we're going to get the Green Bay vs New England superbowl I've been loathing the idea of all these years.

In the AFC Championship game 7 of us had the Pats losing that game, which isn't a bad call, considering they've played in that game 22 years in a row.

Eplin & Jim with the Chiefs, Kemp & John with the Steelers, Shawn with the Chargers.

In the NFC it's a pretty mixed back. Three people chose the Eagles to lose, five people chose the Vikings, Folden with the Giants, Shawn & Kemp with the Pack Attack, Joe with the Falcons,

Overall, The Pats are represented in at least the Conf Champ by 10 people. That's the most of any team and not a real big surprise.

Division Winners

So we'll start with the divisons that for all intent and purposes don't matter for us.

Steelers & Pats had clean sweeps.

Nearly clean sweep for the Chargers; however, Munez took the Raiders, & Eplin and Kemp too the Chiefs.

11 people took the Eagles, with only Rob taking Penn State, I mean the Giants.

Nearly clean sweep for the Rams, with Munez taking the 49ers.

7 games of Deshaun Watson was enough to encourage 6 people to choose the Texans. Five took the Jaguars, and Shawn took the Titans.

7 votes for the Packers & 5 for the Vikings

8 people took the Saints with 4 people taking the Falcons.

I suppose you all could have figured this out by looking at the spreadsheet.

Wild Cards

I'm not going to focus much on the wildcards. Solely because I'm at work and it's jsut a mixed bag all along the way. But, I do want to mention that Jim & Hale picked the Browns. It's certainly ballsy to take a team that's won 1 out of it's last 35 games to suddenly win more than they lose, but hey here's to balls I guess.

Other than that, some odd stand out picks.

I think it's sort of strange that 10 of us chose Aaron Rodgers to win MVP. No reason, it's just odd.

Credit to John for ditching Barkley for the OROY and going with Baker Mayfield, a guy who isn't starting and probably won't for at least half the year.

Just about all of us picked the Bills to bottom out a year after making the playoffs.

I guess that's about it. Don't forget to do your picks, and survivor and losers pool picks.

Another season and again we go through the picks. The Chalk, The Ballsy, and The Stupid as Fuck.

Final Four. More like Final Bore

Could we, as a group, be bigger chalk guessing pussies if we tried? I know we all have flashbacks of the predictions destroying our point totals. But things are different this year. The predictions are only 1/9th of the points for college and 1/9th of the points for pros.. Just as valuable as any other category.

Let's remember this next year. Or for our pro picks.

Obviously Alabama & Clemson go without saying. You'd be stupid not to pick them. Let's go through the list.

First ballsy pick of the year. John is the only person not to put Alabama in the final four. There's some balls for you. 2nd Ballsy pick of the year, Eplin didn't put Clemson in the final four.

Alabama 11 people have.
Clemson 11 of us have.
Washington 6 of us have.
Wisconsin 7 of us have.
Georgia 7 of us have.

Those 5 teams take up 42 out of 48 potential final four picks. Let's see where the other 6 are.

Jim & Folden both took Stanford.
Folden also took Michigan St.
Munez took Ohio St.
I took Michigan.
Eplin took Miami.

So a total of 10 teams can effect the national championship and final four. Well done by the few that took a shot on a team that literally isn't written down 1,2,3,4 in the standings.

Conference Champions

Everyone but Eplin took Clemson. He took Miami.

We had four people take Alabama, which is very rare. Usually Bama is a whitewash. Shawn, Rob, Kemp and John were the four who took the risk.

9 people took Washington, with Jim & Folden taking Stanford & Kemp taking USC.

Several differences in the Big 10.
7 people taking Wisconsin
2 for Ohio State
2 for Michigan St
1 for Penn State

Lots of WVU. wishful thinking from the fans maybe. Rob took TCU, Munez, Hale, and Kemp with Oklahoma,

Central Florida getting all the love they can muster, with 9 people taking them. Me, Folden, and Shawn the outliers taking Memphis.

Apparently, we're all 100% on the Lane Kiffin FAU hype train. 12 for 12. our first sweep.

The Mac is where we finally have some big differences. The breakdown is as follows:

6 people for Ohio
2 for Toledo
2 for Northern Illionois
1 for Western Michigan
1 for Buffalo

Boy, that's fun.

Clean sweep for Boise St

Big differences in the Sunbelt as well.
5 for Arkansas St
3 for Troy
3 for Appalachian St
1 for Georgia St

Looking through the losers of the Conference Championships.

Kemp took Florida State to lose the ACC championship with Clemson winning it. And, since they play on the same side of the conference, this is an actual impossibility. So, good job there, Kemp.

That's the only note.

National Championship Predictions

Three teams dominated our decisions.

Alabama, Clemson, and Georgia.

Eplin took Wisconsin to lose the National Championship, which was the only prediction to not have one of those three teams in it.

That's allf or now. Not going through the individual awards, because I don't know who the hell most of those people are.

Don't forget to do your college pick'em for week 1.
