Football God College Predictions

Thanks to everyone for getting me the college predictions.  I wanted to give you guys an update on where everyone landed.  Hope you guys are ready to bang some erasers, because there's a lot of chalk this year.

We'll start with the unanimous conferences.

Every person had Alabama and USC winning their conference.  And, everyone had Alabama in the Final Four this year.  So, no points will be won by anyone on those. So

SEC - Boring
PAC 12 - As Fuck

The Near Unanimous

ACC - Florida State - 11/12 have them winning the ACC, John being the lone wolf, picking Miami.

AAC - South Florida - 11/12 have USF, with Munez picking SMU.

MAC -  Toledo - 11/12 have them winning, with again, Munez, picking Western Michigan.
If you're starting to gather a theme, you're going to see Munez's name a lot in the list of outliers.

Sun Belt - App State, 10/12.  Munez and Eplin picking Troy.

The most Diverse Picks

Conference USA - Conference USA has 3 teams picked.  Western Kentucky with 6, Louisiana Tech with 5, and oddly as fuck, Old Dominion with 1.

Big 10 - Four different teams are predicted.  Ohio State leading the way with 7.  Followed by Wisconsin with 3, and Michigan and Penn State each getting a single vote.  Oddly, more people have OSU in the college football playoff then they do winning their conference.

Big 12 -There are three teams picked to win the Big 12 this year.  Oklahoma St surprisingly leading the way with 6.  Oklahoma is right behind with 5.  Texas getting one vote by who other than Munez.

Mountain West - This was the best this year as far as parody goes.  There were 4 teams picked, Boise St with 6, San Diego St with 3, Colorado st with 2, and Wyoming with 1.

The Final Four

National Champion - Alabama.  10/12 people have them winning it all this year.  Munez picking USC and Folden picking Ohio State.
Final Four - The top 4 teams in the early polls are Alabama, USC, Ohio State, and Florida St.  There are 48 predictions between the 12 of us, and 40 of the 48 go to these 4 teams.

Alabama 12/12
USC 11/12 - everyone but Gary
Ohio State 10/12 everyone but Rob and Jim.
Florida State 7/12

The people who picked the chalk top 4 are Folden, John, Eplin, and Munez.

So, where were the other 8 picks represented?

3 of these 8 went to Oklahoma St, being picked by Voyten, Gary, and Joe.

2 of the 8 went to Oklahoma, being picked by Hale and Munez.

1 pick each went to Wisconsin (me), Michigan (Jim), and Penn State (Rob)

First Red out of the Year

Finally, I want to give credit to Hale, for getting a red X through one of his picks already.  He picked Texas to finish the highest in the coaches poll, even though they started the season ranked.  Thanks, Hale.  There's always one.

2008: Folden
2009: Adam
2010 Folden
2011: Shawn
2012: Adam
2013: Joe
2014: Joe
2015: Jim
2016: Adam

LAST YEAR'S TOP 3

2009, 2012, &; 2016 Champion:  Adam Johnson

2008: 4th
2009: 1st
2010: 2nd
2011: 8th
2012: 1st
2013: 7th
2014: 6th
2015: 2nd
2016: 1st

Three time, Three time, Three time champ.

2008 &; 2010 Champion, and 2016 Runner Up:  Anthony Folden

2008: 1st
2009: 3rd
2010: 1st
2011: 9th
2012: 3rd
2013: 8th
2014: 11th
2015:4th
2016 2nd

Folden had a rough go of it for a few years there, but has managed a 4th and 2nd in the past two years to really round out his resume.  He has 5 top 3's in the 9 years of FBG

2011 Champion &; 2016 3rd place finisher:  Shawn Voyten

2009:  2nd
2010: 8th
2011: 1st
2012 8th
2013: 6th
2014: 8th
2015: 8th
2016: 3rd

Shawn had a few rough years there in FBG, but he rebounded and got into the money this year for the 3rd time in 8 years.  Again, Shawn has 0 pictures on Facebook that you can find of him, so I typically pick something that embodies his soul.

2 Time champion:  Joe McLane

2009: 5th
2010: 5th
2011: 2nd
2012: 4th
2013: 1st
2014: 1st
2015: 5th
2016: 5th

Impressively, in Joe's 8 years in FBG he's never fallen below 5th place.  3 money finishes and 2 titles.  Consistent as ever.

2015 Champion Jim Rowing:

2008: 3rd
2009: 6th
2010: 4th
2011: 3rd
2012: 9th
2013: 5th
2014: 5th
2015: 1st
2016: 10th

Last year was an odd off year for Jim.  He had only finishes lower than 6th once going into last year.  Probably an aberration.

Colin Reilly

2009: 9th
2011: 10th
2012: 2nd
2013: 2nd
2014: 7th
2015: 3rd
2016: 4th

The last few years, Colin has been about as steady as can be in the standings.  4 finishes in 5 years between second and fourth place.  Colin typically will lead or be in the top two for most of the season, but the predictions tend to fuck him out of a title.

Rob Klingensmith

2009: 10th
2012: 7th
2013: 3rd
2014: 2nd
2015: 7th
2016: 7th

A couple of money finishes for Rob over the past few years, but 7th place seems to be his comfort spot, finishing there twice in a row, and 3 times in the past 5 years.

Gary Yingst

2014: 3rd
2015: John Mclane
2016: 8th

All over the map for Gary at this point.  fluctuating between many different spots.

David Eplin

2015: 6th
2016: john Mclane

Eplin finishes in dead last in 2016, and he had to be the poor 1st son of a bitch to not get the #1 pick in the fantasy draft this year.

Chris Coldsmith

2009: 4th
2011: 11th
2012: 6th
2013: 9th
2014: 4th
2015: 10th
2016:  11th

A couple bad years for Munez in a row now.  He's due to crack into the moeny, with a couple of 4th places under his belt.

Chris Hale

2016: 9th

Hale had a pretty good year last year in a lot of ways, but his predictions were very bad.  2nd year usually course corrects some of the prediction stuff.  So, let's see how he does.

Welcome back to 4 time Last Place winner John McLane

2010: 6th
2011: last
2012: last
2013: last
2014: last

Welcome back, buddy.  It's didn't feel right having Gary and Eplin win last.  Glad you're back to reclaim your prize.
